Chapter 649 19: Saint Incarnation and the Clash of Ideals
Chapter 649 19: Saint Incarnation and the Clash of Ideals
Bottomless Abyss.
Thanks to Lord Stephen, Su Ziyu's injuries recovered quickly.
Though Lord Stephen is an Arcane Mage, he has mastered a plethora of Recovery Spells, especially with some of his Alchemy Creations, which greatly impressed Su Ziyu. However, his progress in studying Divine Incarnation was not very satisfying, especially when it came to high-level consciousness projection, where Su Ziyu's handling of Divine Power was quite unskilled.
He created his first Divine Incarnation in less than half a day.
Yet, to practice controlling this new body, he spent an entire day and still couldn't use it flexibly. It was like having two computers in front of him, and he had to control both simultaneously to play ranked matches. Controlling a single body was quite simple, but Lord Stephen's demands for Su Ziyu were stringent, requiring him to not only simultaneously control two bodies skillfully but also to practice fighting against himself using these two bodies.
This was somewhat similar to ambidexterity, but Su Ziyu faced dual body perspective sensations, which a common soul could not handle; he had to rely on Divine Format Power for synchronized processing. The information generated when a person moves is considerable, involving the Sixth Sense for external perception and internal bodily awareness.
After practicing, Su Ziyu managed to shoddily control the Five Senses of both bodies simultaneously, but he could never fully grasp the Sixth Sense, leading to noticeable delayed reactions during body synchronization.
However, Lord Stephen demanded perfect multitasking, instructing Su Ziyu to use his Divine Format Power as a central hub for information processing, simultaneously receiving visual sensory signals from two bodies and coordinating instructions sent from the soul.
First, master the basic Five Senses, then bring the Sixth Sense under control.
Above the Sixth Sense lies the stricter requirement of the 'Seventh Sense,' which relates to time perception. This is essential for cross-plane coordination when controlling multiple bodies; otherwise, if the bodies are in different planes, any error in time perception will lead to a network-like delay, causing desynchronization.
Of course, not all Divine Spirits need to perfectly control Saint Incarnations. Lord Stephen's demands on Su Ziyu were strictly based on the standards of Mighty Divine Power, as those with Weak Divine Power or lesser divine energies don't have many followers and don't need to control Saint Incarnations across multiple planes. Even some with Mighty Divine Power don't extend their faith into other Material Planes.
These are abilities necessary for certain pantheon chief gods or those aspiring to become chief gods within a pantheon.
Most Divine Spirits leave their true bodies asleep in their Divine Kingdoms, occasionally controlling a Saint Incarnation to wander the Material Plane, essentially letting the main body stay idle while the incarnation operates solo.
"Young one."
"You are a Space-Time Traveler."
"You naturally hold an advantage over time and space. Only by mastering time more thoroughly can you travel through the stream of time without losing yourself." Lord Stephen gently raised a hand, projecting a light curtain, which immediately revealed a turbulent and perforated plane in Su Ziyu's vision.
"This is the Fractured Sunset."
As Lord Stephen's gaze shifted, the image changed quickly, showing Su Ziyu an ancient, buried, and sealed colossal battlefield. The sun in the sky was blood-red, seemingly missing a corner, hanging in the sky. The cracked ground stretched out massive ravines over hundreds of kilometers, and ancient, broken mechanical constructs stood like tombstones across the perforated earth.
"Once one of the most prosperous Prime Material Planes."
"It was destroyed during the Third Pantheon War of the Gods of Faith, a time when the Space-Time Hub had not fully recovered, the Space-Time Dragon could only protect the past but couldn't interfere with the present. That war nearly annihilated over ninety percent of life on this plane. The scars left behind caused most flesh creatures to be unable to survive, leaving only a few elemental lives attracted by Frenzy Energy."
"Due to a contract with Lord Soron."
"I need to guard this plane for one hundred and fifty years."
The projected image changed again, and Su Ziyu's vision showed a colossal Floating City. In the middle of the city stood a tower hundreds of meters high, and on the throne at the top, another identical Lord Stephen slowly opened his eyes.
This time the speaker was not the Lord Stephen beside Su Ziyu but the figure standing at the top of the tower in the projection. He gazed at the perforated earth below and slowly said, "The Fractured Sunset War directly led to the decline of two mighty pantheons."
"Beneath my feet lie the corpses of eight chief gods, as well as some Divine Abominations they tried to create in a failed attempt to resurrect at the last moment."
"Although the power of the Space-Time Hub has recovered considerably."
"We have also regained control over dozens of known Crystal Wall Elements, but this Multiverse is too vast."
"Even Crystal Wall Elements containing life are far more numerous than we imagined."
The projection shifted again, and within it, Lord Stephen showed Su Ziyu the majestic ruins beneath the Floating City. There were broken pyramids hundreds of meters tall, grand and majestic sphinxes cut in half, ancient scales made entirely of unknown metals, and other architectures that were familiar but unnameable.
This was a ruined Divine Hall.
A Divine Hall that once revered many True Gods, now a shattered dead land.
"As a Space-Time Traveler, your current grasp of the Saint Incarnation is insufficient." Within the projection, Lord Stephen returned to the top of the tower. In the brief sequence, Su Ziyu saw a wolf-headed giant corpse over a hundred meters tall missing half its head, a relic left by a Divine Spirit, which, even after millions of years, had not decayed, only exuding a dense and gloomy aura of death, infecting even the elemental life active near it.
Mastering the Saint Incarnation proficiently is a necessary ability for the Space-Time Guardians, as they may need to guard several interconnected Crystal Wall Elements simultaneously, and the presence of the Saint Incarnation can handle most emergencies.
Another very important point is that, even if the physical form of the Space-Time Guardian encounters an accident, the Saint Incarnation can also serve as a medium for their resurrection.
Of course.
The price of doing this is that if the Saint Incarnation dies, the physical form will also lose part of its Divine Power.
The image in the projection greatly shocked Su Ziyu, as his perspective rose higher, he saw a fractured and incomplete planet. Part of this planet's area was even completely erased, directly exposing the planetary core. The scorching magma flowing from the gap was bound by an immense force, as if there were invisible passageways in the void, and this magma flowed into an Elemental Pool floating in the void of the Star Realm. This Elemental Pool, floating in the void, replaced the planet's original self-regulating function, maintaining a trace of life on this broken planet.
The sun is not a solid entity.
Instead, it is a huge artificial energy body, with a majestic faint-golden annular metallic structure floating on its periphery, resembling a sci-fi Dyson sphere, except the technology used originates from Alchemy. Outside this massive annular celestial body, there were unique small silver-white celestial bodies completely composed of unknown metals.
"One of the prototypes of the corona."
Beside him, Lord Stephen smiled and said, "I completed the ceremony for the corona's ascension here back then."
Is this the [Corona]?
Su Ziyu observed the magnificent artificial celestial body before him, unsure of what language to use to describe it.
"Apart from suppressing Void Demons, ancient evil objects, and Divine Abominations, the Space-Time Hub occasionally needs to undertake tasks that involve repairing planets, but it mainly focuses on restoring those Main Material Worlds that are inherently suitable for biological survival and are relatively rare in the Multiverse."
The scene changed again.
This time a city appeared, with certain differences from the impression, creatures dressed like nomads, but resembling Elves in appearance. Their city was on the edge of an endless desert, where many people were afforesting in the desert, healing the land's wounds.
"The natives of this plane."
"The Space-Time Hub repaired the main structure of this plane, but the ecosystem relies on themselves to restore." Lord Stephen responsibly described the work contents of the Space-Time Guardians.
He shifted the scene to the city with an ancient style but had many Alchemy constructions, explaining: "We taught the natives some knowledge."
"But it's all knowledge their civilization once had."
"Knowledge beyond their understanding might actually cause massive disasters."
Then, Lord Stephen, like satellite navigation, took Su Ziyu on a tour of this plane. After the view returned to the giant Floating City, he slowly said, "As a world traveler, you will experience many shattering and near-destruction planes."
"How to specifically respond, you'll need to consider it yourself."
"You should have seen the [Life Restart] ceremony of that Death God, I hope that in the future, when deciding the fate of a plane, you'll consider it prudently first."
In fact.
Even within the Space-Time Hub, not all Space-Time Guardians use such laborious and unrewarding methods to handle entirely polluted planes. A portion of the Space-Time Guardians, especially the one rumored to be the devil Nine Rings, employs a plan known as the 'Purge Accord'.
In more extreme cases, to prevent the spread of pollution, the Space-Time Hub will dispatch the Neutron Star Golem to execute the 'Annihilation Protocol'.
However, Lord Stephen has always firmly opposed physically breaking apart a planet.
For beings of their level, handling ideological conflicts regarding the problem is something they would never easily compromise on. Back then, to stop the 'Life Restart' ceremony of that Death God, Lord Stephen was forced to sign a contract to guard the Broken Remnant Sun for one hundred and fifty years.
Lord Stephen hopes to solve the problem in a more 'gentle' way, whereas Death God Soron wishes to handle everything in a more 'efficient' manner.
In fact, these two beings are both currently waiting for the answer Su Ziyu will give.
The Wasteland Plane.
Is Su Ziyu's test paper.
