Chapter 7 The Forest, Night 1
Chapter 7 The Forest, Night 1
At night, rustling sounds could be heard from the cave entrance from time to time.
Ruan Mianmian, holding a large rock in her left hand and what she thought was a sharp branch in her right, nestled in a corner and stared at the cave entrance.
Unidentified animals or insects would walk past outside the cave, and every sound terrified Ruan Mianmian.
"Host, you don't need to be so afraid. I will warn you if there is any danger."
The system noticed her nervousness and mechanically offered words of comfort.
Ruan Mianmian secretly rolled her eyes. Relying on anyone else is not as good as relying on yourself. Putting everything else aside, this system itself is a "defective product".
The warning given during the day was practically useless; if we had relied on it, she would probably be a pile of bones by now.
Suddenly, a gust of cold wind blew into the cave, and Ruan Mianmian couldn't help but shiver. She gripped the stone in her hand tightly and stared at the cave entrance even more vigilantly.
The system noticed that the host hadn't let her guard down, so it suggested she check the map.
Upon hearing the system's notification, Ruan Mianmian realized that she was wasting such a great "cheat device" by not knowing how to use it.
She opened the map search on the screen and saw a large green area with red dots of different sizes slowly moving across it.
The area where she was located was temporarily safe, with no red dots around.
"System, is that red dot an animal? Does the size of the red dot determine the level of danger?"
"Yes host."
Upon hearing the answer, Ruan Mianmian zoomed in on the map and studied it carefully.
She first surveyed the area around the cave where she was now. Some distance away, a small red dot was slowly moving in the opposite direction from her.
Upon seeing this, she let out a deep breath.
"Host, the leaves you picked today actually have a certain smell, which many animals dislike, so you are safe for the time being."
Upon hearing this, Ruan Mianmian felt another wave of complaints in her mind.
"Hey system, can you just say everything at once? You're releasing information like you're squeezing toothpaste, so slowly. I'm going to be eaten alive or driven crazy by you in this godforsaken place!"
The system then spoke in an electronic voice: "It is recommended that the host explore the other world as soon as possible in order to find energy to replenish the energy supply."
Well, this thing has learned to use insufficient energy as an excuse to fob her off.
After studying the map for a while, she found that there was indeed no danger nearby, so she gradually relaxed.
As soon as a person relaxes, their physical fatigue becomes apparent. Ruan Mianmian is now sore all over, and the scratches on her palms are stinging. She hugs her knees and suddenly feels like crying.
Although she was an orphan with no ties before she transmigrated, she was still afraid, felt broken, and helpless when she suddenly arrived in this dangerous place.
Although I inexplicably gained a system, this system is completely different from the omnipotent systems in the novels I read.
Other people have magical springs or fruit trees or something, but what about hers?
It boasts a ton of features, but with one message saying it's out of power, it can't use anything.
It's true that finding energy sources can solve the problem, but the real issue is that with her small frame, it's uncertain whether she'll even live to see that day!
After thinking about random things for a while, she slowly fell asleep.
Her body leaned haphazardly against the wall, her furrowed brows showing that she was just as uneasy in her dream.
Outside, it was bustling with activity.
This small hole is indeed a rare safe place in the vicinity.
