Chapter 266 Handover and Moving
Chapter 266 Handover and Moving
Zhuang Xiaoting's grandmother's birthday had passed a long time ago. Their visit this time was just a routine visit.
With the college entrance exam finally over, and no one coming to visit her family, Zhuang Chaoying wanted to take her children back to her hometown to spend more time with her family and strengthen their bond.
Huang Ling advised Zhuang Chaoying, "Why don't you take them with you? We can't really kick them out."
Zhuang Chaoying nodded, but before she could speak, the door was pushed open, and Zhuang Tunan returned.
"Let's go, let's set off! Tu Nan, keep an eye on your sister and that other person."
Zhuang Chaoying was the most enthusiastic about returning to her hometown, and she rushed out carrying the two heaviest bags.
Huang Ling followed Zhuang Chaoying with a basket in hand, but worried that Zhuang Tunan wouldn't be able to take good care of the two little ones, so she turned back, grabbed Lin Dongzhe, and introduced Lin Dongzhe to Zhuang Tunan as they hurried along.
After rushing for a while, they finally caught the bus. Lin Dongzhe's assessment of the bus was: a brand-new old bus.
Five people, two adults and three children. Huang Ling bought tickets from the ticket seller and escorted Lin Dongzhe and Zhuang Xiaoting to their seats.
Sitting in the chair was a middle-aged man who kept praising Zhuang Xiaoting's beauty and even tried to reach out to touch her head, but Lin Dongzhe stopped him.
Zhuang Tunan wanted to raise his hand to stop him, but after thinking about it, he lowered it. He hesitated; he was a grown man now, and he wondered if doing so would make his parents lose face.
"Your hands are covered in grease, don't touch other people's children!"
Lin Dongzhe didn't care about any of that and spoke very rudely.
Huang Ling smiled. She also wanted to stop the man, but they were all from the same factory and had met before. It was normal for him to pat the child's head to show affection, as long as he didn't mind the dark fingers.
The bus swayed and wobbled as it arrived at the station.
After walking a few steps to Lao Zhuang's house, Zhuang Chaoying called softly into the house, "Mom and Dad! We're back."
The elderly couple from the Zhuang family walked to the door. "Chaoying is here!"
"Grandpa, Grandma!" Zhuang Tunan and Zhuang Xiaoting greeted them in an orderly line, as if they were meeting with leaders.
"Hey! Come in quickly, Tu Nan, find yourself a seat. Hey? Who's this?" The matriarch of the Zhuang family saw Lin Dongzhe and asked Huang Ling.
Zhuang Chaoying replied, "She's Xiaoting's classmate. She was originally coming to visit, so I just brought her along."
The old woman's smile vanished, and she glanced coldly at Lin Dongzhe. "Oh, okay."
Lin Dongzhe didn't care. After all these years, what kind of people haven't he seen?
Huang Ling remains the main source of labor; she only has the thought of resistance, but no concrete actions or strategy for it. Zhuang Ganmei's wife merely assists, saying she doesn't know how to do this or that.
Lin Dongzhe ultimately didn't get the privilege of eating at the main table, and ended up having a meal in the kitchen with Zhuang Xiaoting and Huang Ling.
However, Lin Dongzhe was quite satisfied with this trip to the "Old Zhuang Family". He quietly put away the golden needles in his hand, took one last look at the "Old Zhuang Family"'s house, and sneered.
…………
Zhuang Chaoying went to grade the college entrance examination papers!
Before leaving, he asked Huang Ling to keep it a secret. But just a few days later, the principal was broadcasting enthusiastically over the school's public address system, praising the school's contributions to the college entrance examination.
Lin Dongzhe nudged Zhuang Xiaoting's arm. "How many days has your dad been gone?"
"It's been more than ten days." Zhuang Xiaoting wasn't quite sure how many days, but it felt like a long time.
Lin Dongzhe looked at the drizzling rain outside and said, "It won't take more than a few days."
Song Ying didn't want to live in the dormitory anymore, and after the apartment was handed over, she hurriedly started moving. Lin Wufeng found a tricycle and moved all the furniture from the compressor factory dormitory over. The apartment wasn't taken back and was still temporarily in the Lin family's hands. Lin Wufeng was a highly skilled technician and a graduate of a prestigious university, and the factory didn't want to offend him.
After the move, Li Yuping reluctantly saw Lin Dongzhe off to the courtyard. Her eyes were red as she left, and she told Lin Dongzhe to visit her often in the future.
Lin Wufeng was puzzled, so Song Ying explained to him that Li Yuping often cuddled with Lin Dongzhe while sleeping in the dormitory, so they probably had feelings for each other.
I wonder if Secretary Zhang was deliberately trying to annoy Song Ying by assigning her apartment, number 14 in courtyard number 37. Her neighbor is Wang Yong, a notorious scoundrel.
The location is remote, and going to the toilet or exiting the alley is the most troublesome thing to do in this courtyard.
Although it was a newly built courtyard, Lin Dongzhe felt that it was not as comfortable as the old buildings in Shamao Lane, and it seemed more crowded.
Wang Yong was indeed a troublemaker. He wanted to build a pool at the drain of his house, so he made a hole in the courtyard wall, allowing sewage to flow into Lin Dongzhe's small courtyard.
Everyone said that Wang Yong was related to the factory leaders, but in reality, they were only very distant cousins. Because of this, Wang Yong really gained a lot of benefits.
Song Ying discovered the problem on her second day after moving in, and started arguing with Wang Yong in the yard.
Lin Dongzhe did not participate in this neighborhood interaction. He was too young to stand out.
Coincidentally, Huang Ling also received the keys to her new house from the housing department that day, but Zhuang Chaoying hadn't returned yet, so she had no choice but to move herself. Fortunately, Zhuang Tunan was already in fifth grade, so he could be considered a helper.
The sky was still somewhat overcast, as if a light drizzle could begin at any moment.
Huang Ling pushed the tricycle from behind, while Zhuang Tunan rode the bicycle, pedaling hard.
Upon reaching the alley entrance, the tricycle couldn't be pushed in, so she had to get off and carry the clamps inside. Huang Ling searched for houses according to the house numbers, but the more she searched, the more disheartened she became.
Living at the very end of the alley is really inconvenient.
When they found courtyard number 37, Song Ying was in the middle of a heated argument with Wang Yong, unleashing a torrent of insults.
When Huang Ling arrived at the courtyard, she saw Song Ying unleashing her power. There was a hint of fear in her eyes, along with a touch of envy.
She also wanted to be like Song Ying, able to scold whomever she wanted.
Song Ying was in the middle of a heated argument when she suddenly saw Huang Ling. She stopped her mental attack, jogged over to greet Huang Ling, and said, "Sister Ling, right?"
Huang Ling was somewhat flattered, "Yes!"
"Wu Feng! Dong Zhe! Come and meet our new neighbors!"
Lin Wufeng and Lin Dongzhe were cleaning the room. Lin Dongzhe suggested sleeping in separate rooms, and although Lin Wufeng was surprised, he agreed. Lin Dongzhe was tidying up his own little apartment.
Hearing Song Ying call out to the two of them, they knew that Huang Ling's family had arrived. They went outside, called out "Aunt Huang," and headed straight for Zhuang Xiaoting.
He took Zhuang Xiaoting's hand and found it was freezing cold, so he warmed it with his hand. "Come inside, have some hot water first!" He pulled Zhuang Xiaoting inside.
This whole operation left Song Ying and Lin Wufeng speechless!
Seeing their stunned expressions, Huang Ling explained to them that Lin Dongzhe and Zhuang Xiaoting were elementary school classmates, and also mentioned that Lin Dongzhe had come to her house for dinner.
Only then did Song Ying realize that there was such a layer of relationship.
