Chapter 146 Playing Volleyball
Chapter 146 Playing Volleyball
When Zhang Liangjun returned to the yacht, Ji Xiaotong and the other three had already gotten up, but they all looked rather listless. Qiu Yingying, in particular, had a look of fear in her eyes when she saw Zhang Liangjun.
"Liangjun, you're back!" Ji Xiaotong perked up, walked over, and quietly checked if Zhang Liangjun was injured.
Zhang Liangjun saw through Ji Xiaotong's intention and smiled as he took her hand. "There's basically nothing on the island. Let's go up to the island and play for a while!"
The yacht has a draft of five meters, making it unsuitable for docking. People can only be taken ashore in batches by speedboat. Fortunately, the distance is short, and it won't take long to make several trips.
Exploring and landing on the island took up a lot of time, and by then the temperature had risen again.
Everyone changed back into their swimsuits, including Zhou Hong and the other two.
After two days at sea, everyone was missing the feeling of having their feet on solid ground, and they were all excited to finally reach the beach. While the sea was nice, it didn't offer the same sense of security as land.
Of the group, only Qiu Yingying and Qu Xiaoxiao were relatively lively; the rest were rather quiet or reserved. Qiu Yingying, however, appeared exhausted today and sat quietly next to Guan Juer. Only Qu Xiaoxiao looked around on the beach.
Zhou Hong brought out a volleyball and installed a net.
"Teacher Zhang, let's go play volleyball for a while!" Qu Xiaoxiao ran over and hugged Zhang Liangjun's arm again. "And Kong Kong, she wants to play too!"
"Okay! But I need a teammate! It's not fair for the three of us to fight, and for me to take on both of you by myself!"
Qu Xiaoxiao looked around, ignoring the dejected Guan Juer and Qiu Yingying, and finally ignoring Ji Xiaotong, knowing that Ji Xiaotong couldn't play volleyball. "Sister Andy, let's play together!"
Andy exercises regularly, and although all four of them had expended a lot of energy, after so long, Andy had recovered some of her strength. Hearing Qu Xiaoxiao's call, she stood up with a smile, "Then let's play for a while!"
Ji Xiaotong, along with Qiu Yingying and Guan Juer, sat at the China Open, acting as referees and cheerleaders.
Andy and Zhang Liangjun automatically teamed up, as did Qu Xiaoxiao and Kong Kong. But not long after, Qu Xiaoxiao started complaining about wanting to switch teammates. "Kong Kong, didn't you say you knew a little bit? We haven't won a single point so far! Teacher Zhang, let Andy and Kong Kong switch! That way, the skill levels will be more even."
Kong Kong is clearly a novice, and Qu Xiaoxiao's skills aren't much better; neither of them are as agile as Zhang Liangjun and Andy, who train regularly. Although Zhang Liangjun hasn't played much either, competitive sports are always about strength and speed, except in table tennis. Even though table tennis relies more on technique, powerful strength and explosive speed can still give a player an advantage.
Andy and Zhang Liangjun exchanged a smile. Zhang Liangjun nodded to Andy, who then walked to the other side, hugged Kiki, and moved Kiki to the other side. Zhang Liangjun noticed that Andy's interactions with people had improved significantly, almost reaching the level of a normal person.
She walked over nervously and whispered to Zhang Liangjun, "Teacher Zhang, I'm not very good at playing this!"
"It's okay, everyone's just playing around. It's not a competition, don't take it to heart." Zhang Liangjun really didn't take it to heart, and he didn't exert much effort from beginning to end.
This time, the two sides were finally evenly matched, and the cheerleaders were cheering for Qu Xiaoxiao to defeat the big boss Zhang Liangjun! Qu Xiaoxiao was in high spirits and, together with Andy, suppressed Zhang Liangjun and Kong Kong.
Qu Xiaoxiao hit the ball back again. The ball was very fast, almost like a smash, and the landing point was right between Zhang Liangjun and Kong Kong. The two of them went to catch the ball at the same time. They were so fast that even Zhang Liangjun couldn't react in time. The two of them collided with each other and with a "bang", Kong Kong was bounced back.
Zhang Liangjun reached out and grabbed Kong Kong, pulling her back from the fall and preventing her from freefalling. However, Zhang Liangjun also lost his balance, leaned to one side, and caught Kong Kong on his arm before falling heavily to the ground.
Fortunately, this was a beach, and the sand was loose because it hadn't been trampled on for a long time, so Zhang Liangjun wasn't injured. He only vaguely and fearfully realized that he was being held in Zhang Liangjun's arms again! This embrace was warm, just like his father's embrace when he was a child, full of a sense of security!
The cheerleaders and opponents all came over to check on Zhang Liangjun and his companion's injuries. Zhang Liangjun smiled at the situation and said, "Let's get Kyoko up first!"
With a flushed face, Kong Kong was pulled up. Zhang Liangjun got up on his own, patted the sand off his clothes, and asked, "Kong Kong, are you alright?"
"I'm fine, thank you, Teacher Zhang." Kongkong's eyes were full of tears.
Looking at Kong Kong's delicate face, Zhang Liangjun also noticed the emotion swirling in her eyes. "Alright, everyone's a bit tired from playing. Let's take a rest! Zhou Hong, bring out the blankets. I want to sleep here."
Zhou Hong responded and went back to the speedboat to get a blanket and a parasol. A few minutes later, everything was set up. Zhang Liangjun put on sunglasses, downed a can of ice-cold soda, and hid under the parasol, comfortably closing his eyes.
The others quieted down as well; the sun was already quite strong, and hiding away for a midday rest was the best option.
Kongkong tossed and turned on the mat, unable to fall asleep, her gaze occasionally darting towards Zhang Liangjun beside her. It was the height of summer, the temperature so high it was almost unbearable. Zhang Liangjun was wearing loose beach shorts, his muscular upper body completely exposed to Kongkong.
His slightly bronzed skin shimmered with a healthy glow, as if gilded by the sunlight. Every muscle line was clearly visible, especially his solid chest and broad shoulders, giving him an aura of unparalleled reliability. Even more striking was his enviable eight-pack abs! These abs weren't as exaggeratedly "explosive" as those of bodybuilders, but they perfectly showcased the immense power within his body. They were tightly packed, slightly bulging, rising and falling with Zhang Liangjun's breath, as if containing boundless energy.
Kong Kong was filled with doubt. She couldn't understand why she hadn't noticed how beautiful Zhang Liangjun's figure was when they were at the pool yesterday!
Looking back now, Zhang Liangjun's physique did indeed possess a unique charm. His muscle lines were smooth and natural, neither overly exaggerated like those of bodybuilders nor as thin and weak as the average man. However, unless one specifically looked for him, this perfectly proportioned body could easily be overlooked in a crowd. And I must have been attracted by his handsome face, ignoring his physique!
Zhang Liangjun slept until the afternoon before waking up.
Everyone had woken up. Andy and Ji Xiaotong sat together, talking quietly. Qiu Yingying, Guan Juer, and Qu Xiaoxiao were making sand sculptures, and had already made a rough outline of a person. Only Kong Kong was still sitting on her mat, secretly looking at herself. When she was discovered, she hurriedly hid away.
