Chapter 1940 - 1940: Threatening Ye Qing
Chapter 1940 - 1940: Threatening Ye Qing
Being stared at by Du Canglang like that, Ye Qing felt even more flustered because he already knew what Du Canglang was plotting. It seemed that Du Canglang intended to have him enter this crossroad. After all, the Buddha's Relic was in Ye Qing's right hand, and Ye Qing's body was like a Vajra Indestructible Body at the moment, so the Instantaneous Blossom couldn't possibly absorb his nutrients. However, Ye Qing knew his own situation well. If there was any part of him that had the Vajra Indestructible Body, it was just his right arm. As for other parts of his body, they were protected by the power of the Devouring Demon Flower, not by the Buddhist Sect's Vajra Indestructible Body. The Instantaneous Blossom couldn't absorb the nutrients from his right hand, but that didn't mean it couldn't absorb nutrients from other parts of his body. If he went in, how would that be any different from courting death?
"The Master Duwang left such a tomb and such a mechanism, clearly indicating he didn't want outsiders entering his grave," Du Canglang said in a deep voice. "However, he left this crossroad planted with the Instantaneous Blossom. It seems there's some connection between him and the Buddhist Sect, which is why he left this path, wanting an accomplished person from the Buddhist Sect to enter his tomb!"
Wen'er didn't understand what was going on, but upon hearing this, she felt a bit of longing and murmured, "Instantaneous Blossom, the name itself sounds quite sorrowful. I just wonder what this flower looks like, whether it's beautiful or not."
No one paid her any attention, as the thoughts of this young girl were not something the crowd would speculate about. Du Canglang was watching Ye Qing, while Ye Qing was looking at the stone beside him, refusing to meet Du Canglang's gaze. He had already made up his mind; regardless of whether the matter of the Instantaneous Blossom was true or false, he wouldn't enter this crossroad. Du Canglang hadn't secured the Buddha's Relic yet, so he definitely wouldn't kill him. This was the leverage Ye Qing had to stand up to Du Canglang.
It seemed Du Canglang saw through Ye Qing's thoughts. He gave a cold smile but didn't speak, instead calmly watching the seven crossroads. The Wanyan Family stood aside; since Du Canglang didn't speak, no one dared to make a sound, all watching Du Canglang cautiously, afraid he might suddenly fly into a rage and kill them.
After more than half an hour of deathly silence, a panicked sound of footsteps finally came from within the crossroads.
Upon hearing this sound, the group here became slightly more tense. Without a doubt, these footsteps must be from the group of foreigners who had entered earlier. They had been inside for such a long time; did they manage to pass through the crossroad or not?
Not long after, two people emerged from one of the crossroads; they were part of the foreigners who had gone in earlier. One was covered in blood, clearly severely injured, collapsing at the exit, unable to move any further. The other was in an even worse state, with one leg twisted in an unnatural way, the bones obviously broken. It was already a struggle for them to escape.
Seeing these two, Du Canglang knew they hadn't managed to reach the final burial chamber, so he didn't inquire further, only observing the other roads. Before long, the rest of the foreigners also emerged one after another. However, just like the first two, they all fled in a panic, none having traversed the crossroad.
Du Canglang scrutinized these people, his gaze finally resting on the two foreigners who appeared noticeably older. Without doubt, these two had grown old inside the crossroad because when they entered, they certainly didn't look this aged.
Ye Qing was also taken aback by their appearance. Although he had heard rumors of people aging after entering, he had harbored doubts. But seeing living examples with his own eyes, he had no choice but to believe it. Could it be, as Du Canglang suggested, that there really was some miraculous flower like the Instantaneous Blossom inside the crossroad?
Du Canglang walked up to the two, circling them and observing carefully for a long while before saying solemnly, "Instantaneous Blossom, indeed it is the Instantaneous Blossom!"
"How can you tell?" Ye Qing asked, puzzled.
"It's simple," Du Canglang replied. "They look significantly older, but in reality, if you observe closely, you'll find it's merely the nutrients from their bodies being drained, not the kind of aging that comes with old age. With time and care, they can return to their original state. However, aging due to time is irreversible. What else but the Instantaneous Blossom could cause this?"
Ye Qing also approached, examining the two closely, but couldn't discern the situation Du Canglang described. However, he couldn't differentiate between the types of aging anyway. Yet, Du Canglang's certainty suggested he probably wasn't mistaken.
"Instantaneous Blossom!" Ye Qing looked at the crossroad ahead. The route the two had exited from was the second on the left, a detail he specifically remembered. He was pondering that if the Instantaneous Blossom was truly as miraculous as its name, then inviting the old Shijia over would make it easy to traverse the path and reach the Tomb of the Duwang Sect Master, wouldn't it?
Du Canglang also stared ahead for a while before suddenly saying to Ye Qing, "Ye Qing, go in."
"Are you joking?" Ye Qing immediately widened his eyes, saying, "Why don't you go in?"
Wen'er, standing beside him, was startled and exclaimed urgently, "This detour has the Instantaneous Blossom inside. If it absorbs all the nutrients from a person, that person will surely die. How can Ye go into this detour?"
Du Canglang completely ignored Wen'er, only looking at Ye Qing, and said, "Are you planning to go in yourself, or should I throw you in?"
"Stop playing these tricks on me!" Ye Qing said, "If you have the skill, then kill me, but if you do, the Buddha's Relic will be lost too. As long as you can bear to lose the Buddha's Relic, you can kill me, because I am not going in!"
"Is that so?" Du Canglang sneered coldly, and said, "Ye Qing, don't think that just because I don't want to kill you, it means I can't do anything to you."
As Du Canglang spoke, his body suddenly moved several meters sideways, rushing directly to Wen'er. Before Wen'er could react, Du Canglang grabbed her by the neck and lifted her up. No matter how she struggled, she could not escape Du Canglang's grip.
"Du Canglang, what are you doing?" Ye Qing was immediately anxious. Wen'er's father had once saved his life, so seeing Du Canglang grabbing Wen'er like this, he was naturally very anxious.
"Are you going in or not?" Du Canglang coldly asked, applying obvious pressure with the hand that grabbed Wen'er. Her neck was being squeezed, making it hard for her to breathe, her face turning completely red as she clearly suffered greatly.
Ye Qing almost vented his anger with blood. He never expected Du Canglang would use Wen'er to threaten him. Now, he certainly couldn't watch Wen'er die here. Hence, he was left with no choice but to heed Du Canglang's demands.
"Alright, alright, let her go, and I'll go in," Ye Qing shouted in a deep voice.
"That's more like it!" Du Canglang chuckled coldly, tossing Wen'er to the side, and said coldly, "Remember, once inside, bring the Tianzhu Sword Technique out for me. If you can't find it, or if you don't come out, then I'll have no choice but to kill her first. Therefore, her life is in your hands, think carefully, and don't play with other people's lives!"
Ye Qing frowned deeply, looking at the concerned face of Wen'er beside him, and gritted his teeth, saying in a deep voice, "Du Canglang, among Peak Masters, you are the most shameless. You claim to be a senior and renowned Peak Master in the world, yet you bully a young girl. Such actions only you could do!"
"Hahaha..." Du Canglang laughed instead of getting angry, and said, "That's what I call tactics, don't you find it very effective? No matter how shameless my tactics are, you're still obediently helping me!"
Ye Qing was extremely angry, yet could do nothing, only letting out a furious cold snort. He glanced at Wen'er, and said in a deep voice, "I can go in, and I can bring out the Tianzhu Sword Technique as well. But you better take good care of Wen'er. If a single strand of her hair is missing, you can forget about getting the Tianzhu Sword Technique!"
Du Canglang frowned, unexpected that Ye Qing turned to threaten him instead. However, after looking at Wen'er beside him, he felt reassured. As long as this girl is in his grasp, Ye Qing still has to listen to him, and he really doesn't need to worry.
Seeing Ye Qing heading towards the detour, Wen'er couldn't help but feel anxious, hurriedly saying, "Ye, don't go in, it's too dangerous inside!"
Ye Qing turned and looked at her, smiled slightly, and said, "Don't worry, I'm fine. If I can't get in, I can just rush back out, I won't die. Look at the others, didn't they come out not long after growing old?"
Hearing Ye Qing's words and seeing his smiling face, Wen'er felt a shiver in her heart. She temporarily forgot what she was supposed to say, simply staring blankly as Ye Qing walked into the detour. Including the Wanyan Family and those foreigners, everyone stared fixedly at the detour. No one understood why Du Canglang was forcing Ye Qing to go in, but obviously, there must be a reason. Could it be that Ye Qing could actually pass through this detour?
Du Canglang also straightened his body, staring intently at the detour, his emotions very tense. If Ye Qing could really reach the end at The Tomb of the Duwang Sect Master, and retrieve the Tianzhu Sword Technique, then he could completely wield the Tianzhu Sword. With the Tianzhu Sword paired with the Buddha's Relic, Du Canglang seemed to see the day he would become Invincible Under the Heavens!
Everyone stared at the Stone Corridor, no one speaking or making a sound. They only listened to Ye Qing's footsteps gradually disappearing into the detour, and every person's expression grew tense. Could Ye Qing truly make it to the end of this detour?
