Chapter 472: New Tricks
Chapter 472: New Tricks
Li Yang opened his eyes and found himself in a strange and desolate environment.
Surrounded by endless gray plains, the surface is covered with cracks, and the sky is overcast with no sunlight.
The remains of some dilapidated buildings can be vaguely seen in the distance, all immersed in a decadent and desolate atmosphere.
"Where...is this?" Artemis looked around and frowned.
Oniliyi stuck out his tongue to smell the wind and tasted the smell in the air, with a solemn expression on his face: "This... used to be the human world, but... it was destroyed by the epidemic."
Li Yang stood up with some confusion, frowned and murmured:
"I thought...that space-time gate would directly transport us to the universe..."
"But this 눓뀘 should be about the same, right?"
Demeter next to her smiled slightly and said:
"My current authority is time. How can I easily cross the two planes of reality and dreams and teleport you out?"
T came over in confusion, looked around, and then asked in confusion:
"Then this is?"
Demeter opened her mouth and answered simply:
"This is the boat of the future."
"I just tried to find a way out of the timeline, but I found this unique point."
"If we don't do something, no matter how external things develop, we will eventually return to this world..."
"Obviously, this doesn't end well."
Everyone looked at each other speechlessly, feeling a sense of desolation in their hearts.
At this moment, T suddenly pointed to the distance and said: "Wait, there is a figure there!"
Everyone looked around, and sure enough, in the shadow of the dilapidated building, there were several figures trembling and huddled.
Afraid of alarming some evil force.
"Oh! There are still living people? That's great!" Oniliyi cheered up and planned to go forward to greet him, but was grabbed by Li Yang.
"Be careful." Li Yang whispered, "Those guys don't look normal."
After hearing this, several people hid for a while, crouched in a corner and began to peek in secret.
Among those figures, a burly man slowly raised his head with a horrified look on his face.
"We...what did we do wrong?" The man murmured to himself, "Why do we have to suffer such a disaster? Is there really no point in living...?"
The woman on the side choked and begged: "Don't say it...as long as we are alive, there is still hope...right?"
"Hope?" The man sneered, "In a world like this, what do you expect?"
"There are only three of us left in the entire universe! [The epidemic] left us behind, and [the gods] also left us behind!"
"What hope do we have?"
"We will not die like this." Another man spoke with a firm tone, "As long as humans are still there, there will be hope of rebuilding our homeland! It's only temporary now..."
"Temporarily? Look at this devastated world!" The big man roared with a ferocious smile, "It's all that bastard's fault...it's all that lunatic's fault..."
"If it weren't for her, how could we be where we are today? Everything is over! We can't even grow anything edible! There isn't even a cockroach left in the entire universe!!"
As he spoke, the man picked up the rubble on the side and smashed it against the ruined walls. He seemed to be going crazy, venting his inner anger and helplessness.
Li Yang and others looked at each other, looking at the miserable situation of those poor people, and couldn't help but feel confused.
"This is what will happen if the epidemic is allowed to rage?" Artemis murmured, "Everything will be wiped out, and the entire civilization...all living things...will be destroyed in one day."
Demeter nodded: "Maybe, so we must prevent this from happening. This future cannot be determined."
Li Yang took a deep breath and asked doubtfully:
"What did that guy mean when he said... [the epidemic] also left them behind?"
"Are there any people who believe in [epidemic] in the boat?"
T was stunned for a moment, then slowly lowered his head:
"It seems...there really is."
"Although [epidemic] has long been an existence that everyone in this universe avoids, there are still some people who are willing to regard it as some kind of salvation."
"Those people regard [epidemic] as a bridge to the next life. We have even discovered that someone secretly cultivated [epidemic] in a boat before."
"The original boat was much bigger than it is now..."
Before he finished speaking, a strange laughter suddenly sounded in everyone's ears, like the whisper of an evil ghost.
What followed was a large black tentacle falling from the sky.
The tentacles quickly descended, wrapped around those poor people, and strangled them alive.
Afterwards, he made a human figure, with Li Yang's face on his head, and slowly turned around.
"Why do you have to pinch me..."
"Oh, it's really..."
Li Yang sighed slightly and complained quietly.
Afterwards, the humanoid disease slowly opened its mouth and said in an almost hoarse voice:
"you...?"
"Do you still want to...keep running...?"
Following its words, the guy's mouth widened directly to his ears, and his dark eyes were as creepy as the abyss.
Li Yang and others were immediately shocked by the disgusting expressions, and their hearts almost stopped beating with fear.
Just when Artemis was about to shoot its head, Demeter suddenly stopped her:
"Don't mess with it, that being is not in the same plane as us, and we can't hit it."
She said calmly, "But the plague is indeed aware of our existence and is communicating with us in some way."
"Is it declaring war on us?" T snorted coldly.
"No one knows about this." Demeter sighed, then slowly raised her head, "Anyway...it knows we are watching it."
The humanoid plague slowly raised his hands, as if making some kind of bluffing threat.
Artemis immediately pulled the bow to its full length, and her slender arms showed beautiful muscle lines due to the force.
"Don't be impulsive." Li Yang held her arm and shook his head.
He looked at the humanoid plague with a firm expression: "What do you want? If you just want to trap us, you should realize that it won't work."
The humanoid plague let out a shrill and strange laugh, and then turned into thousands of black maggots and spread rapidly.
They crawled at an amazing speed, and in a blink of an eye, they had submerged the surrounding area.
"This...should we accept it or not?" T's voice was a little loud. She unfolded the muzzle on her arm armor and quickly aimed at those hideous things, ready to fight.
Demeter looked solemn. She stretched out her palm to meet the army of maggots. A light green force burst out from her body, instantly freezing the maggots in place.
