Chapter 75 That Was His Mark
Chapter 75 That Was His Mark
"You...you're drunk..."
Smelling the smell of alcohol on him, Zhai Muling retreated hastily, but Jun Yinghuai pressed closer until her back was against the artificial hill.
There is no way to retreat.
"Drunk?" Jun Yinghuai chuckled softly, his tone self-deprecating. "Yes, if I weren't drunk, how would I have met you?"
He reached out and stroked Zhai Muling's fair and smooth face, and all the memories of his past life suddenly flooded his mind.
This face has been stained with tears and blood.
She once smiled at him, and she also yelled at him with all her might. Struggling, hating, loathing... none of those heartbreaking expressions have appeared yet.
He laughed maniacally, with tears glistening in his eyes.
"I wish to remain drunk forever."
The alcohol stirred his emotions, and he looked down at her. Her soft lips met his gaze, and a burning desire welled up within him. A voice inside him screamed wildly.
Possess her... Possess her!
Jun Yinghuai's eyes darkened, and he succumbed to his desires, leaning down to capture her sweetness.
Zhai Muling realized what he wanted to do and turned her head away in a panic, only to have those dangerously soft lips land on her neck.
She shuddered.
"Your Highness!" Zhai Muling almost burst into tears.
She tried to struggle but found her hands were tied behind her back, leaving her trembling slightly like a lamb waiting to be slaughtered.
"Avoiding me?" Jun Yinghuai frowned slightly in displeasure, his warm lips pressed against her skin, exhaling a scalding breath of alcohol.
"Mu Ling, you are mine..."
"Before, now...forever!"
His voice was terribly hoarse, his eyes grew increasingly dark, and deep within them lay an endless storm and a fervent possessiveness. A surge of malevolence coursed through him, and he suddenly bit down hard on that tender skin.
"Ah..." Zhai Muling bit her lip, tears streaming down her face in pain.
Tears streamed down her cheeks and onto Jun Yinghuai's face. He suddenly became a little clear-headed and, somewhat confused, released her, only to see faint red teeth marks on her fair skin.
That was his mark.
Jun Yinghuai felt a strange sense of satisfaction and pleasure welling up inside him, and he slowly smiled.
"Snapped!"
A crisp slap landed.
Zhai Muling withdrew her hand, her fingertips trembling as she pulled up her collar, pushed him away, and rushed out.
The burning pain on his face brought Jun Yinghuai back to his senses.
He watched Zhai Muling's fleeing figure with a complicated expression, half of his face hidden in shadow, his expression unreadable.

The fire at Shou Kang Palace burned for half an hour before it was finally extinguished.
Inside the charred hall, a room full of servants knelt on the ground, silently enduring the Empress Dowager's wrath.
The Empress Dowager sat on the intact soft couch, her expression twisted. She smashed a teacup to the ground, the shards flying up and cutting a palace maid's face, drawing blood. The maid trembled, but dared not utter a word.
"How did the fire start out of nowhere!" She vented all the anger she had suffered at Jun Ce's hands on the servants. "How could I have raised such a bunch of useless people!"
"Wenyue! What on earth is going on?!"
"Your Majesty, the fire started on the lawn near the palace gate," Wen Yue replied, holding her breath.
She dared not say that the fire broke out no sooner had the regent left than...
Could it be... that the Regent sent someone to do it?
Qin Yan stepped forward and said, "Aunt, could it be that Miss Zhai...?"
She had been waiting outside the main hall.
The Empress Dowager narrowed her phoenix eyes, a hint of anger appearing on her face.
Wen Yue spoke up at the right moment, "Your Majesty, when the fire broke out, Miss Zhai was no longer in Shou Kang Palace."
"Who knows what tricks she used?" Qin Yan scoffed.
That old nanny Zhou was really strange; she somehow managed to slap herself in the face.
Wen Yue glanced at Qin Yan indifferently, then lowered her eyes to remind the Empress Dowager, "No matter what methods Miss Zhai used, she already has an alibi. If we rashly punish her without evidence, I'm afraid..."
Jun Ce's face suddenly appeared in the Empress Dowager's mind. She closed her eyes, her temples throbbing. "Yan'er, you should go back first. I have a terrible headache and want to take a nap."
Qin Yan opened her mouth, but ultimately said nothing.
"Aunt, please rest well. I'll take my leave now." She curtsied, a cold glint in her eyes.
Since her aunt was unwilling to help her, she would fight for it herself!
Anyway, she won't give up on Brother Ce.
I must let Brother Ce know what a vulgar, rude, ruthless, and vindictive person Zhai Rongyu is, and that he is not worthy of him at all!
After Qin Yan left, Wen Yue turned her head and looked at the room full of servants, tentatively asking, "Your Highness, what about these palace servants..."
"A bunch of useless bastards!"
"Send them all to the Imperial Laundry Department!"
Just looking at it gives me a headache!
The Empress Dowager closed her eyes and pressed her temples, her anger still burning. Wen Yue stepped forward and gently massaged her temples.
Amidst cries of pleas for mercy, the palace servants were taken away by the guards.
The Empress Dowager brushed Wen Yue's hand away, her eyes suddenly turning sharp. "That Ye Kun cannot be allowed to live."
"This person is currently imprisoned in Dali Temple."
"Find someone you can trust, and..." He looked at Wen Yue with murderous intent, but Wen Yue immediately straightened up. "Your Majesty, rest assured!"
"I will make him shut up forever."
Thinking that she would have much less income from now on, the Empress Dowager lowered her eyes and sighed, "Go find a royal physician, my headache has flared up again."
……
Zhai Muling ran to the palace gate and saw Zhai Rongyu standing in front of the carriage waiting. She could no longer suppress the sorrow in her heart.
“Rong’er…” she choked back tears and rushed over to hug Zhai Rongyu.
"Sister!" Zhai Rongyu hugged her tightly, her delicate hand stroking her back to comfort her before pulling her up and checking her over. "Are you alright?"
His gaze fell on the teeth marks on her neck. "This is..."
She stopped talking and quickly glanced around. "Let's go, get in the carriage first!"
The speeding carriage headed towards the Minister's residence.
Zhai Rongyu sat in her seat, looking at Zhai Muling, whose face was ashen and cold, her eyes suddenly turning icy, "Was it the Sixth Prince who did it?"
“No…” Zhai Muling’s eyelashes trembled slightly, her delicate back bent, and she buried her hands in her palms, “It’s the Crown Prince…”
"Then did he...?" Zhai Rongyu asked anxiously.
I remember, it was during this trip to the palace that my sister had relations with the Crown Prince.
This beast...
Zhai Muling raised her face, shaking her head with a slightly bewildered expression.
Zhai Rongyu lowered her head, seemingly lost in thought.
Neither the Sixth Prince nor the Crown Prince succeeded; who knows what other methods they will employ in the future.
No, we need to take my sister to lay low for a while.
She looked up and saw Zhai Muling's broken and pale appearance, and her heart ached.
"Sister, let me take you to stay in Yunshan for a while."
"My Taoist temple has been built, but it is not open to the public yet."
"It's quiet there, and no one will bother you."
"You also have time to study some herbs, and stop thinking about these sad things."
Once I get there, I'll first add a protective barrier to the Taoist temple.
At that time, no cat or dog will be able to get in.
A surge of emotion welled up in Zhai Muling's heart, and she nodded with tears in her eyes.
