Chapter 179 She's not my sister-in-law
Chapter 179 She's not my sister-in-law
Su Yingxue and Tan Zhengmo sat quietly in a corner of the restaurant, calmly savoring the delicacies in front of them.
The third and fourth brothers, along with several of their men, inquired along the way.
Finally, they found the Tongxianghui Restaurant where Su Yingxue and Tan Zhengmo were having a meal.
As soon as they entered the store, the third brother swaggered toward their table.
With a thud, he pulled over a chair and plopped down.
With a nonchalant smile on his face, he gestured with his chin toward Su Yingxue: "Hey, sister-in-law, you seem to be enjoying your meal here!"
Tan Zhengmo frowned, and his face instantly darkened.
The fourth brother followed the third brother at a leisurely pace and slowly took his seat.
The third brother frowned, his eyes darting back and forth between the two men.
Finally unable to hold back, she snapped at Tan Zhengmo, "Tan Zhengmo, you really have some nerve! Knowing that Su Yingxue is your older brother's woman, you still dared to ask her out alone."
Tan Zhengmo raised his head slightly, looked calmly at the third brother, but didn't say a word, and just continued eating in silence.
The fourth brother also coldly swept his gaze over Tan Zhengmo and said, "Tan Zhengmo, Su Yingxue is your sister-in-law. How can you have dinner with her alone? What kind of behavior is this!"
Tan Zhengmo snorted coldly and put down his chopsticks.
Leaning back, she replied nonchalantly, "I severed ties with the Tan family a long time ago. To me, she's not some sister-in-law."
Seeing the tense atmosphere, Su Yingxue quickly raised her hand to smooth things over: "Stop arguing, everyone. We finally have a meal together. Can't we talk things out properly? Let's eat first."
The third brother was angry because Tan Zhengmo seemed not to have heard him.
So he picked up his chopsticks, grabbed a piece of meat, and stuffed it into his mouth.
After chewing a few times, her face turned bright red in an instant.
Her lips felt like they were on fire, and she kept fanning herself, muttering indistinctly, "What is this stuff? It's so spicy!"
After a moment, he looked at Su Yingxue again, forcing a hint of concern on his face: "Sister-in-law, you should eat less spicy food, it's not good for your skin, and your older brother will be worried about you."
He paused, then spoke in a low voice, so that only Su Yingxue could hear, "If your older brother finds out you're with this kid, he won't let you off the hook."
The fourth brother stood quietly to the side, watching the third brother's performance, shaking his head slightly, a hint of helplessness in his eyes.
The third brother's eyes lit up, and an idea came to him. He turned to the waiter and shouted, "Go, bring me your best wine. I'm going to have a good drink with this kid today."
The waiter responded and hurriedly left.
The fourth brother leaned closer to the third brother and whispered, "What are you up to?"
The third brother gritted his teeth and said resentfully, "Have you forgotten how this kid treated our eldest brother before? Today, we'll teach him a lesson at the dinner table and show him the consequences of offending the Tan family."
The fourth brother nodded slightly, a hint of ruthlessness flashing in his eyes.
He was clearly planning to team up with the third brother to have a drinking contest with Tan Zhengmo and see him make a fool of himself.
Su Yingxue saw this and secretly groaned inwardly.
It seems this meal is going to be anything but peaceful; let's just hope it doesn't cause too much trouble.
Tan Zhengmo, on the other hand, crossed his arms and had a faint, cold smile on his lips.
He wasn't afraid of the provocations from the third and fourth brothers at all; he was just waiting to see what tricks they would play next.
At this moment, the waiter walked over with a smile and gently placed several bottles of liquor on the table.
The fourth brother sneered from the side: "Hmph, this meal today is probably not so simple."
The third brother glared at the fourth brother: "Don't make things worse. We need to get this straight today."
Su Yingxue noticed that there was something wrong in the eyes of the third and fourth brothers.
She asked softly, "Do you two have some other plans?"
The fourth brother snorted coldly and turned his head away: "This is a matter between men, you're a woman, don't ask too many questions."
The third brother quickly reassured Su Yingxue: "Yingxue, don't worry, we just want to have a good talk with Tan Zhengmo."
Although Tan Zhengmo appeared calm on the surface, he was inwardly annoyed that the sudden appearance of these two people had disturbed his time alone with Su Yingxue. He secretly tightened his grip on the chopsticks in his hand.
Su Yingxue looked at them helplessly: "Can't you two talk properly? Why do you have to make things so tense?"
The third brother sighed: "Alas, we have no choice. Zhengmo, you must give us an explanation today."
To ease the tension, Su Yingxue tried to pick up a piece of food and put it in the third brother's bowl.
He tried to calm him down, but the third brother stopped him.
The third brother said seriously, "Yingxue, don't worry about it, this matter needs to be resolved today."
The fourth brother, who was standing to the side, couldn't wait any longer and picked up a wine glass, gulping down a glass of baijiu in one go.
He looked at Tan Zhengmo defiantly: "Zhengmo, you're always like this, wanting everything, trying to snatch everything, without even looking at whether those things belong to you!"
Tan Zhengmo finally put down his chopsticks and coldly retorted, "This is my business, and it's none of your concern!"
The third brother joined the fray: "Zhengmo, you've disappointed us so much! How could you treat your sister-in-law like this?"
The fourth brother may seem to be uninvolved, but he has actually been secretly escalating the conflict.
A cold smile crept across his lips as he offered an even more radical suggestion: "How about this, let's stop talking nonsense and each of us drink a bottle of baijiu, then we'll call it a day, okay?"
Tan Zhengmo's expression instantly turned serious, and a fierce look appeared in his eyes.
He stared intently at the fourth brother, as if he wanted to devour him alive.
Seeing this, Su Yingxue quickly stood up, trying to stop this pointless competition: "Don't do this, we're all family, why bother?"
But by then, the situation was completely out of control.
The third brother also picked up his wine glass and took a big gulp: "Zhengmo, if you don't drink today, don't even think about leaving this room!"
Tan Zhengmo sneered and picked up the bottle as well: "Let's drink! Who's afraid of who!"
The atmosphere in the restaurant instantly became tense, and a battle of egos between the three men was about to unfold.
Su Yingxue could only stand helplessly by and watch all of this happen.
Su Yingxue sat in a corner of the restaurant, looking anxious.
She would occasionally raise her wrist to glance at the exquisite watch, a gift Tan Zhengchu had given her.
Time seemed to stretch out, and every second felt exceptionally heavy.
She had only one thought in her mind: to catch Wei Hao as soon as possible and find the antidote for Tan Zhengchu's poisoning.
The restaurant was bustling with noise, but Su Yingxue seemed to be in another world, oblivious to the surrounding commotion.
Her gaze was fixed on the faces of the three men—the fourth, the third, and Tan Zhengmo.
The atmosphere between them was tense, with a palpable sense of impending conflict.
The fourth brother's eyes were gloomy, and he would glance at Tan Zhengmo from time to time, a barely perceptible sneer curling at the corner of his mouth.
The third brother was more direct. He patted Tan Zhengmo's shoulder forcefully and provocatively asked, "What's wrong, Young Master Tan? Not going to have a drink today?"
