Chapter 348: The Mysterious Being Deep Within the Cave
The deep roar echoed through the cave like rolling thunder, making everyone's relaxed nerves tense up again, and every hair on their heads seemed to stand on end.
Liu Yu's heart skipped a beat, and his heart pounded instantly. He thought to himself, "Could there be an even more powerful monster in this cave? We just went through a fierce battle; I hope there won't be any more complications." His brows furrowed tightly, and his eyes were filled with worry and vigilance.
Bai Suzhen clung tightly to Liu Yu's arm, her delicate body trembling slightly, her face pale, and her voice trembling as she said, "Husband, that voice sounds terrifying. Should we really go and investigate?" Her beautiful eyes were filled with fear and unease.
Xiaoqing also looked frightened, gripping her sword tightly. She swallowed hard and said, "Sister, brother-in-law, what should we do? Should we retreat first? I have a feeling this place has an eerie atmosphere."
Pigsy shrank his neck, his round belly jiggling, and said with a bitter expression, "I, Old Pig, don't want to run into any more powerful guys. I almost lost my life just now. I still want to eat delicious food for a few more years, I don't want to lose my life here."
Xiao Tian, however, remained fearless, still wearing its eye-catching green shorts, wagging its head and barking, "What's there to be afraid of? With me here, this little situation is no problem for us!" Its confident demeanor contrasted sharply with the tension of the others.
The group exchanged hesitant glances, their faces filled with uncertainty and conflict. Going might mean encountering unknown dangers; not going, on the other hand, risked leaving behind hidden dangers and endless troubles in the future.
Liu Yu gritted his teeth, steeled his resolve, and said, "Now that we've come this far, if we don't figure out the source of this sound, there might be hidden dangers in the future. Let's be careful." His gaze was firm, revealing a resolute courage.
Everyone nodded in agreement. Although they were still uneasy, Liu Yu's decision gave them some courage and confidence.
So they cautiously made their way deeper into the cave. They took each step with extreme care, afraid of disturbing some terrifying being.
A pungent odor permeated the cave, a smell like a mixture of rotting leaves and damp earth, with a faint hint of blood. The surrounding walls were damp, with water dripping down intermittently, making a clear "drip-drip" sound in the silent cave.
As we walked, a huge cave appeared ahead. The cave was tall and spacious, like a natural palace. Various strangely shaped stalactites hung from the cave ceiling, some like sharp swords, others like winding dragons, appearing mysterious and eerie in the dim light.
Strange lights shimmered in the cave, red, blue, and green intertwined, dazzling the eyes and making one feel as if they were in a dream world.
"Where is this place?" Xiaoqing asked in surprise, her eyes wide as she curiously looked around.
Just then, a figure slowly emerged from the light. At first, the figure was blurry, but as it drew closer, everyone finally saw its appearance clearly.
Upon closer inspection, everyone saw a strangely shaped elf. This elf had pointed ears, much longer than normal human ears, with the tips shimmering with a faint blue light. It also had a pair of transparent wings on its back, which fluttered gently, sparkling with starlight. Its skin was pale green, and its eyes were large and bright, like two dazzling gems.
"Who are you? How dare you trespass into my territory!" the elf roared, his voice clear and sharp, filled with intense dissatisfaction and anger.
Liu Yu quickly explained, her tone sincere and anxious: "We had no intention of offending you. We just heard some strange noises here, so we came to check. We have absolutely no malicious intent, and we hope you will understand."
The elf snorted coldly, crossed her arms, and said with a disdainful look, "Nonsense! You clearly have ulterior motives! I won't believe your lies!"
Little Tian jumped out, looking particularly comical in his green shorts, and shouted at the elf, "You little rascal, don't be ungrateful! We really were just passing by!"
Enraged by Xiao Tian's words, the elf's eyes widened as she exclaimed, "You green-sleeved dog, how dare you be so rude to me! I'll teach you a lesson!"
Taking advantage of the opportunity, Xiao Tian pulled out a slingshot from his underwear and shot it at the elf with swift and agile movements.
The elf was caught off guard by Xiao Tian's sudden attack and staggered, almost falling to the ground.
"You cunning dog!" the elf shouted angrily, waving his magic wand and chanting incantations.
Suddenly, the cave was filled with light, and all sorts of dazzling magical attacks came crashing down on the group. Some were like fireballs, some like ice spikes, and others like lightning, all with overwhelming force.
Liu Yu and the others quickly cast spells to defend themselves. Liu Yu's sword emitted a dazzling light, forming a solid shield; Bai Suzhen waved her hands, and a thick wall of ice instantly appeared around her; Xiao Qing summoned lightning, forming an electric net above her head; Zhu Bajie also cast his spell, and a faint golden light emanated from his body.
Bai Suzhen was anxious: "This spirit seems difficult to deal with. We must be careful and not let our guard down."
Xiaoqing shouted, "Come on everyone, we must defeat him! We can't let him underestimate us!"
Pigsy muttered, "Oh dear, what a mess this is! I'm so unlucky! But since I'm here, I'll fight him!"
Just as the two sides were locked in fierce combat, the elf suddenly stopped. It was panting heavily, and its eyes were no longer filled with anger, but with confusion.
"Wait, I think I sense a familiar aura," the elf said, frowning, his expression becoming complicated.
Everyone was stunned, not knowing what the elf meant. They temporarily stopped their spells and looked at the elf warily.
At this moment, the elf's gaze fell on Liu Yu. It looked Liu Yu up and down, its eyes filled with inquiry.
"Could it be you?" The elf's eyes were filled with doubt, and her voice softened.
Liu Yu looked bewildered, scratched his head, and said, "Me? What's wrong with me? I don't know you."
The elf circled Liu Yu a few times, scrutinizing him closely, its nose constantly sniffing.
"You carry the aura of my master. Who exactly are you?" the elf asked, his tone filled with urgency and anticipation.
Liu Yu was even more confused: "Your master? I don't know him. I really don't know what's going on."
The elf fell into deep thought, seemingly recalling something. Its eyes sometimes looked lost, sometimes determined.
After a while, the elf said, "Anyway, come with me." With that, it turned and walked deeper into the cave.
The group hesitated for a moment, then exchanged glances.
Liu Yu said, "In that case, let's follow them and see if we can solve this mystery."
So, the group followed the elf deeper into the cave...
