Chapter 67 is a graveyard
Chapter 67 is a graveyard
A dark and windy night.
A Porsche, as black as night, was speeding down the highway.
There were three people in the car—one was a man with long, straight silver hair, another was a burly driver, and the last was a boy who was fast asleep in the back seat.
The moonlight shone through the car window onto his bare skin, making it appear as pale as paper. The boy's skin already had a sickly pallor, as if he had been seriously ill for many days; under the moonlight, he looked like a silent corpse.
However, this "corpse" is not very quiet.
Bai Yexiu slowly opened his eyes and found that the car was still moving. He frowned slightly and said, "It's been driving for so long? Qin-chan, are you sure you're not going to drop me off in some desolate place?"
“I’ve already told you, the mission location is a bit far,” Gin explained patiently.
Okay, I still think the sleeping Cointreau looks better.
Bai Yexiu yawned, his tone somewhat resentful: "You could have called Bourbon, but how could you use me to make up for the lack of manpower? I still have a big clean-up task to do..."
Upon hearing the name Bourbon, Gin's face showed some displeasure: "I just don't want to be around that 'nanny'."
"puff."
Bai Yexiu couldn't help but laugh.
After all, it was Gin's order to make Bourbon cook for him every day, so Gin was clearly humiliating Bourbon.
"Qin-chan, I never expected you to mix personal grudges into your missions," Bai Yexiu said with a smile.
"Have you laughed enough? If you have, show me this." Gin tossed a laptop at him.
Bai Yexiu silently turned on his computer, and a somewhat bloody picture immediately came into view.
The picture shows a person who died a rather gruesome death, with many marks of torture on their body.
"What is this?" Bai Yexiu looked up at Qin Jiu.
"The organization's members were captured and killed. Although they were useless, we had to eliminate the threat completely."
Bai Yexiu zoomed in on the picture, examining it closely: "This has been tortured, hasn't it? I wonder if it revealed anything... So," he looked up at Gin again, "has anyone been chosen yet?"
"Yes," Gin replied succinctly.
"Is their base in a very remote location?"
"Not biased."
"Then why did you drive for so long? You're not really going to abandon me, are you?" Bai Yexiu shrank back in his seat, staring at Gin warily, muttering things like "take me home."
Gin felt exhausted once again.
Why do I feel this sense of helplessness when taking care of a child...?
"Kundo, you'd better shut up." Gin's tone was half threatening and half helpless.
"Qin-chan, you're so fierce..." Bai Yexiu said with a resentful look in his eyes and a tea-like tone.
Vodka, who had been listening to the commotion for a while, couldn't help but glance at Gin next to him, and their eyes met as if by coincidence.
Seeing Gin's displeased look, Vodka broke out in a sweat and tried to salvage the situation: "Brother, why don't you and Cointreau stop for a bit? I'm driving..."
"..."
Gin didn't speak, but seemed to have listened to Vodka's opinion.
Vodka was also helpless because the scene of Gin and Cointreau together was really "a spectacular argument". The two of them started arguing as soon as they met, even more fiercely than the older brother and Bourbon.
The argument between the older brother and Bourbon was tinged with annoyance, because Bourbon was a mystic whom Gin disliked. The argument between the older brother and Cointreau, however, was more about helplessness.
The car stopped, seemingly on the edge of a city. Streetlights were scarce, and the surrounding area consisted of old houses. Next to these old houses stood a very conspicuous office building, standing out starkly among the old buildings slated for demolition.
It's obvious that this office building is where today's mission will be carried out.
So why do gangs like to use office buildings as their bases?
All things considered, Bai Yexiu has probably blown up countless office buildings belonging to gangsters, and this time he'll probably do it again.
After listening to Gin's serious explanation of the plan and confirming that Gin wasn't going to abandon him there, Bai Yexiu tidied up the weapons and, at Gin's request, headed to the back door of the office building.
"Boss, if we just leave the body there like that, won't they come looking for us?"
In the empty office building, a group of thugs sat cross-legged. One of them tugged at the burly man sitting in the chair, who was clearly their boss, and asked with great concern.
The man sitting in the chair took off his sunglasses and laughed loudly: "Hahaha, we did it so secretly, they don't even know who we are, how could they possibly come looking for us?"
“And besides,” the man gestured for his underling to lean closer, “that guy has some good stuff in his head. If we could capture a few more people from that mysterious organization and force them to reveal the information they know, just imagine how many people would come to us to buy it? That would be much more cost-effective than us buying it from the Chains ourselves!”
Seeing his underling's shocked expression, the man continued, "Although I don't know what kind of organization it is, that organization might have more intelligence than the Chains."
"..."
Bai Yexiu didn't expect to hear his alternate account's name before even entering the back door. Although there was a wall between them, he could still hear it clearly.
Looks like I'm pretty famous...
but……
Bai Yexiu glanced at the empty back door area with a puzzled look, and silently put away the scalpel he had just taken out.
Why is there no one guarding the place... Is the gang leader so fearless or simply not vigilant and stupid?
Normally, gang strongholds would have a few people guarding the front and back doors, but today's is really... special.
Inside the office building, all was peaceful, with some people even acting drunk. Bai Yexiu glanced at his watch and guessed that the gang leader had probably arranged for everyone to be at the front door. If there was no one at the front door, Gin would have already kicked it down and shot them all.
If that's the case, then it shouldn't matter if he plays it first, right?
Bai Yexiu kicked open the door with a big smile on his face, even a little excited.
On the other side, Gin and Vodka, who were still fighting at the door, had just finished dealing with the last person when they heard a series of sounds coming from inside.
"That Cointreau guy actually beat me to it," Gin said, looking in that direction.
“There’s a lot of people here.” Vodka changed the magazine on his pistol, then suddenly looked at Gin as if he remembered something: “When did Cointreau become so fast?”
Bai Yexiu kicked the back door panel off the room with a loud bang, startling everyone inside.
"Who are you?!" The first few henchmen to react sprang up from the ground as if by reflex, pointing their steel pipes at Bai Yexiu, who had a smile on his face.
The gang leader sitting in the chair was clearly stunned by what had just happened, but when he saw that the newcomer was just a teenager, he not only breathed a sigh of relief, but also seemed to regain some of his momentum.
"Kid, do you know where you are?" The burly man stood up and strode arrogantly toward Bai Yexiu.
"Of course I know," said Ban Yexiu, showing no fear as the burly man approached, even wearing a friendly and innocent smile.
"—This is your graveyard."
