Chapter 78 I want you, my goal is you
The ridiculous parents' unspoken agreement was to shift all the blame onto the driver, bodyguard, and the housekeeper/servant.
They then handed the matter over to the police and each of them stopped interfering.
Without a doubt, if Si Mocheng had truly paid with his life in this kidnapping, they would only shed a few crocodile tears at his funeral for the sake of the family, the company's image, and the group's stock profits.
Actually, it's not that they don't love children; they all cherish their own small families outside the home, they just don't love Si Mocheng.
This seemingly insignificant act caused Si Mocheng a lifetime of suffering.
Si's father and mother are the most direct culprits who caused Si Mocheng to turn into a world-destroying villain.
The kidnappers feared the authorities most, so why would they want to cooperate with them? Wouldn't that be walking right into a trap?
Enraged, the kidnappers abandoned Si Mocheng while passing through the primeval rainforest, thus upholding their word. Whether Si Mocheng, the brat, survived or not was none of their concern.
The primeval rainforest is an undeveloped, even undevelopable, forbidden zone for humans. The terrain is harsh, the magnetic field is chaotic, and it is gloomy and dark. The green sea that blocks out the sun has no gaps, like a deep and ancient monster, or the most desperate cage in the world.
Countless scientists and adventurers have lost contact here before, and no one has ever come out alive after crossing the primeval jungle.
Countless venomous ants, snakes, insects, bloodthirsty beasts, and a great many unknown creatures, unrecorded and unknown to the world, lurk here.
The rainfall here is extremely high, and because the air humidity remains above 90% year-round, it has undoubtedly become a paradise for viruses and bacteria to run rampant.
Even the smallest wound can be fatal.
As for Si Mocheng, a child who was only six or seven years old, one can imagine how difficult it would have been for him to survive.
When Jiang Liwu found him, his eyes were cold and numb, unlike those of a child, but rather like those of a killing machine that had survived countless battlefields.
Barefoot, covered in wounds, dressed in tattered clothes, filthy and disheveled, he expressionlessly ate the carcasses of birds, his body covered in feathers.
In order to survive, he had eaten rotten flesh, maggots, ants, and rats. He had no shortage of water, but it was all filthy, unfiltered water.
At night, they would huddle in cold, cave-like stone caves, living with bats and snakes.
The stomach ailment started around that time. Jiang Liwu was relieved to leave after Si Mocheng recovered. Little did she know that he would still be left with an indelible shadow, and this mental trauma has tormented him to this day.
……
Jiang Liwu walked into Si Mocheng's office.
The office appeared to be closed, but a shallow crack remained. Secretary Chen did not follow them in but instead went to find the first-aid kit.
Jiang Liwu saw Si Mocheng sitting in a leather chair working, holding a document in his hand, looking at it intently with a serious and indifferent expression, and wearing a pair of gold-rimmed glasses on his high nose.
If you ignore his disheveled appearance, messy hair covered in grass clippings, his injuries, and the fact that he's holding the documents upside down, he does actually look quite convincing.
Si Mocheng lifted his cold, indifferent eyelids, his eyes sharp and reddened. "Who gave you permission to come in? Get out," he said in a deep voice.
Jiang Liwu was not intimidated by his cold, hard, and sharp-edged demeanor. She simply blinked and reminded him, "Xiao Cheng, you're holding your documents upside down."
Si Mocheng froze for a moment, then realized he was indeed holding the development document upside down. He immediately turned red with embarrassment and anger, gritted his teeth, threw down the document, and stood up abruptly. The force of the impact caused the chair to scrape against the floor with a screeching sound.
He stormed over and shoved Jiang Liwu against the wall, trapping her like a cage. "Didn't you hear me? I said you're not allowed to call me that. Who do you think you are? Do you think you're... my stepmother?" Si Mocheng slammed his fist against the wall, his bloodshot eyes fixed on Jiang Liwu. His last words trembled, and upon closer listening, they even sounded slightly choked.
Jiang Liwu looked directly at him without flinching or backing down, and said firmly and seriously, "I am your stepmother, from beginning to end."
A tear glistened in Si Mocheng's eye, his glasses concealing the intense emotions surging within him. "Shut up! You're not her! You're not her! Do you think I haven't investigated you? I know exactly how many teeth you lost as a child!!"
Jiang Liwu blushed slightly and gritted her teeth. This brat, really.
"You're a liar." Si Mocheng said this with resentment, like an enraged lion, but his eyes held a hint of resentment and his throat held a hint of grievance.
"Don't think you can fool me just because you had plastic surgery to look like my stepmother."
"Um..." Jiang Liwu cautiously reminded, "Don't you know how many teeth I lost during my baby teething period? How come you don't know whether I've had plastic surgery or not?"
Upon hearing this, Si Mocheng choked for a moment, then became even more furious, "I don't believe a single word that liar said."
"Why don't you touch my face and see if it's natural?"
A surge of emotion welled up within him, and an endless longing drove Si Mocheng to touch and trace the face of the person before him, to see if she truly existed.
However, just as he was about to touch that soft, warm porcelain, Si Mocheng suddenly snapped back to reality, gritting his teeth in disgust, "Don't try to bewitch me! What exactly is your purpose in pretending to be my stepmother? What do you want? Money? Shares? Or the entire Si Group?!"
Jiang Liwu: "I want you. My purpose is you."
Before he could even utter a word of condemnation for greed, Si Mocheng's eyes widened in shock. Within a second, his skin turned even redder, as if he were being steamed and about to burst into flames.
Just then, Secretary Chen knocked on the door and came in, only to see his boss, CEO Si, domineeringly pinning Jiang Liwu against the wall. The man's blush said it all.
"Oh dear." Secretary Chen quickly evaded the question, his face showing excitement at having just gotten some gossip, but also worried that he might have interrupted President Si's good time and be secretly assassinated by him. "I, I'm here to deliver a first-aid kit."
After putting down the medical kit, Secretary Chen quickly left, closing the office door behind her.
So, so Mr. Si and Ms. Jiang actually have this kind of relationship?!
Secretary Chen's sudden entrance caused Si Mocheng's face to darken, but it also brought him back to his senses. His gaze towards Jiang Liwu returned to one of wariness and distance. "Sweet talk, is this how you deceive Fu Siyue and Wei Xifeng? Too bad, I'm not one of those two fools. I won't be blinded by you."
“My stepmother passed away twenty years ago, so I know very well that you are not my stepmother, and you shouldn’t even think about taking her place,” Si Mocheng warned coldly.
