Chapter 11 The Youngest Son of the Fu Family

Chapter 11 The Youngest Son of the Fu Family

The cacophony of reporters' voices rose and fell, like a swarm of bees buzzing in one's ear, creating a sense of irritation. At the same time, the incessant clicking of cameras filled the air, as if trying to freeze the moment. He frowned slightly, a surge of displeasure rising within him. His large sunglasses concealed his eyes, but could not hide the dissatisfaction and annoyance on his face.

Immediately afterwards, he was surrounded by a group of mysterious men in black suits, all with imposing figures, and slowly walked towards a luxury car. They looked serious and walked with steady steps, as if they were carrying a great mission. His figure stood out among the many men in black, yet he blended into the surrounding environment, exuding an inexplicable sense of authority and dominance.

As he approached the car, a man in black respectfully opened the door with elegant and practiced movements. He nodded slightly and gracefully entered the car, like a regal ruler. With the door closing softly, the vehicle started rapidly, the roar of the engine shattering the surrounding silence. The wheels spun rapidly, kicking up a cloud of dust, and it sped away like a whirlwind.

The scenery outside the car window flashed by like a scene from a movie, with trees, buildings, and crowds left far behind. The vehicle sped along the road at an astonishing speed, as if trying to escape this world and head towards an unknown destination.

"Lancheng, I'm back." He murmured to himself, gazing at the scenery outside the car window.

Ten years

The woman sitting next to him, wearing a black dress and with long hair cascading over her shoulders, looked at him with a hint of doubt and worry in her eyes. She turned to him, gazed into his eyes, and asked softly, "Elvis, are you really determined to come back? So, are we going back to Australia?"

He paused for a moment, seemingly weighing the various possible answers in his mind. Then, he took a deep breath and spoke in a low but firm voice, "Anna, I'm not sure if I can really do it, but I know I have to try. I came back to take back everything that's rightfully mine, not just for myself, but for our future. Only then will you not be trapped with me forever in that dark, sunless place, living a life without hope or sunshine. Do you like that kind of life? That's definitely not the life I want for you."

His eyes gleamed with determination and a sense of responsibility, as if conveying a message to her—this was an unavoidable choice, and no matter how many difficulties and challenges lay ahead, he would move forward without hesitation. At the same time, a hint of tenderness and concern flickered in his eyes, as if he were asking for her opinion, hoping to gain her support and understanding.

The woman named Anna nodded.

...

"Long time no see, brother, I'm back!" Fu Shiling stood at the door, staring coldly at the man in front of her. A slight smile played on her lips, carrying a hint of barely perceptible mockery and provocation. She said arrogantly, "I've missed you terribly all these years."

Time flies; a full ten years have passed in the blink of an eye. For these ten years, Fu Shiling has lived alone in faraway Australia. He still remembers when he was sent away, so young, filled with fear and confusion about the world. And now, he has finally returned, but his heart is filled only with endless resentment.

Over the past decade, Fu Shiling has endured countless hardships and setbacks. He worked tirelessly in a foreign land, suffering greatly before achieving his current success. Today, he is no longer the child who could be manipulated by others, but a young man with great strength and confidence.

Facing the family that had abandoned him, Fu Shiling's anger burned even brighter. He wanted everyone to know that he was no longer the weak and easily bullied Fu Shiling he once was!

“Now that you’re back, behave yourself. Do you think the Fu family is a place you can come and go as you please?” Fu Shiyue spoke to him expressionlessly and calmly, without any anger, seemingly unconcerned.

Fu Shiling, however, was not afraid at all. He straightened his back and met her gaze with a firm and cold look.

The two remained locked in a stalemate, the surrounding air seemingly frozen, filled with a tense atmosphere.

Sparks flew where their eyes met, as if an invisible war was raging. Neither was willing to back down an inch, each holding firm to their own position.

"Alright, alright, why do you two brothers act like enemies the moment you meet? Why are you so serious?" Fu Haosheng looked at the two brothers who were at odds with each other, feeling helpless. He shook his head and said earnestly to Fu Shiyue, "Shiyue, your brother hasn't been back to the country for ten years. Now that he's finally back, you two have to get along well!"

After saying this, Fu Haosheng turned his gaze to the unfamiliar woman standing next to Fu Shiling, a hint of doubt flashing in his eyes, and asked, "Shiling, who is this?" Fu Shiling put her arm around Anna's shoulder, her face beaming with a happy smile, and proudly introduced her, "Dad, this is my girlfriend from Australia, her name is Anna. I brought her back to China this time specifically to introduce her to you."

Anna smiled and said, "Uncle, brother, my name is Anna, and I'm Elvis's girlfriend."

Upon seeing Anna, Fu Haosheng nodded politely to show his welcome and respect. However, Fu Shiyue maintained a calm expression, seemingly indifferent to everything around him.

Fu Shiling didn't care at all about Fu Shiyue's attitude. He walked straight past Fu Haosheng, sat down on the sofa in the living room, and casually crossed his legs, one hand resting casually on the armrest.

Then, Fu Shiling looked at her father and said firmly, "Father, I have no intention of going back to Australia this time. From now on, I will stay in the Fu family. After all, the blood of the Fu family flows in my veins! If even the Fu family cannot accept me, then where else can I truly belong? Not only that, I also want to work for our Fu Group and contribute my share to the family business!" As she spoke, Fu Shiling's eyes were full of confidence and determination.

"Ha!" Fu Shiyue's cold, mocking laughter suddenly rang out. He narrowed his eyes slightly, revealing an indescribable indifference and disdain. Then, in an extremely icy tone, he said, "Only now have you realized that the blood of the Fu family flows in your veins? Back then, you believed the Fu family was responsible for your mother's death, and you swore you would completely sever ties with the Fu family! Those resolute words still seem to echo in my ears. How come you've forgotten everything you said? Don't you even have any memory of what you said or did? Don't you have any sense at all?"

His voice was as piercing as the cold wind, sending chills down one's spine. Every word was like a sharp sword, mercilessly piercing the other's heart. At this moment, Fu Shiyue revealed his resolute and ruthless side, questioning the person before him without any mercy.

"Alright, Shi Yue, Shi Ling is back now. I admit I wronged him before, but now that he's back with us, I'm truly overjoyed! So, for my sake as his father, please stop arguing with your brother endlessly." Hearing his father's words, Fu Shi Yue found it utterly ridiculous, a cold smile creeping onto his face. He stared intently at Fu Haosheng standing before him, his eyes filled with contempt and disdain.

"Hmph! Your face? What does it matter to me?" Fu Shiyue snorted coldly, then turned around abruptly and walked towards the door without looking back. Every step he took was firm and powerful.

After leaving the Fu residence, Fu Shiyue quickly jumped into the car parked nearby and slammed the door shut. With a roar of the engine, the car sped away like an arrow, quickly disappearing at the end of the road…

In a corner of the Fu residence—

In Fu Shiling's room, there was a small balcony. At this moment, Fu Shiling was standing there alone, holding a bottle of chilled beer in his hand. He silently raised his head, brought the bottle to his lips, and drank it all in one gulp.

The cold liquid flowed down his throat, bringing a brief moment of coolness and relief. However, this could not conceal the deep sorrow and anguish in his heart. Moonlight shone on him, illuminating his lonely yet resolute figure.

His thoughts drifted away, recalling his time in Australia. He was young and naive then, cruelly sent to a foreign land—Australia. There, all alone, he spent countless long days and nights in solitude.

He was acutely aware of his unique status, as he was the unacknowledged illegitimate son of the Fu family, and his biological mother was merely a lowly, powerless nanny. He was destined to endure much unfair treatment and strange looks. Furthermore, his half-sibling relationship with Fu Shiyue filled their lives with complex emotional entanglements and unspeakable conflicts.

In this unfamiliar land, he struggled to adapt to his new environment, yet he could never shake off the deep-seated feelings of inferiority and helplessness within him. However, it was precisely this incredibly difficult, arduous, and thorny journey that forged his icy, decisive, and ruthless character. These years of hardship were like a merciless and sharp carving knife, leaving deep and shallow scars on his once innocent and naive heart, gradually making him cold and resolute; like a raging fire, it burned away the little kindness and compassion remaining in his heart, leaving only endless indifference and ruthlessness. Ultimately, he became a fearsome figure, radiating a chilling aura, as sinister and terrifying as if he came from the deepest hell.

"But in the end, I am a member of the Fu family, Fu Shiyue. This is a fact you can never change. What can you do to me?"

More and more empty beer bottles lay scattered haphazardly on the balcony floor, like carelessly discarded trash. He stood there quietly, his eyes fixed on the ever-shining star in the sky with a bewildered yet determined gaze.

"What exactly did you see in Fu Haosheng? How could a man like him be worth your..." he said softly, his voice hoarse and choked with emotion. "Don't worry, I will enshrine your name honorably in the Mu family ancestral hall. I will never let you leave like this, without a clear explanation. I am no longer the Fu Shiling I once was." Finally, he said, "Mom."

He clenched his fists, his heart filled with longing for his mother and anger at the injustices he had suffered in the past. He would not let any of those who had hurt him and his mother get away with it. He would use his own strength to prove his mother's innocence and let everyone know how great she was.

The stars in the night sky twinkled faintly, seemingly cheering him on silently. He took a deep breath and told himself he couldn't give up, that no matter how great the difficulties, he had to persevere. Only in this way could he fulfill his promise to his mother.
