Chapter 36 Wu Sansheng's Plan (Part 3)
Chapter 36 Wu Sansheng's Plan (Part 3)
"No need, I'll have someone drive it. Having another yacht following along won't cause any problems."
Out of professional habit, Ah Ning wanted to leave the yacht behind—after all, it was already out in the open, so it was good to keep it in case of any emergencies.
Yan Huai and Wu Sansheng, standing to the side, remained silent, their gazes fixed on the turbulent sea, each lost in their own thoughts.
Yan Huai was thinking about how to avoid the underwater tomb and lead A Ning and the others in circles, but without it seeming too deliberate.
Wu Sansheng was wondering if he could persuade Yan Huai to cooperate with him, and if not, what should he do with the kid?
“Eastward…” Yan Huai had only uttered two words when the system’s voice echoed in his mind, interrupting him from what he was about to say.
"The seventh task is now issued: help Wu Sansheng break away from A Ning's team. The reward for completing the task is: Water-repelling Pearl x1, Unextinguishable Flame x1, Bloodline Automatic Sensing Ability within 10 meters, and +1 point (current points are 0). If the task is failed, all rewards will be cancelled."
Yan Huai was momentarily stunned when he heard the task suddenly issued by the system. His gaze unconsciously turned to Wu Sansheng, and he asked in confusion, "Isn't he cooperating with Qiu Dekao? Why would he plan to leave?"
"Please explore on your own, host. In addition, the system will give you a friendly reminder: Zhang Qiling and Black Glasses were hired by Wu Sansheng yesterday morning. Black Glasses is responsible for receiving Wu Sansheng, while Zhang Qiling is responsible for protecting Wu Xie."
Why are they all here? Yan Huai frowned. What is Wu Sansheng up to?
"Yan Huai?" A Ning noticed that Yan Huai was breathing heavily and was puzzled. What was he spacing out about? "You just said east?"
"Huh? Oh, it's heading southeast." Yan Huai snapped out of his daze and caught a glimpse of Wu Sansheng looking at him thoughtfully. He touched his nose guiltily. "We can dive at 20 kilometers."
Ah Ning looked at Yan Huai suspiciously, but his clear eyes revealed nothing. Ah Ning could only give up and gestured to the driver's seat to continue moving forward.
Over the next two hours, the two yachts traveled southeast one after the other. During this time, Wu Sansheng took advantage of the moment when A Ning left to get close to Yan Huai.
"The underwater tomb isn't in that location you're talking about."
“I know, I’m not here to lead them to the tomb.” Yan Huai curled his lips, then looked at Wu Sansheng meaningfully, “Third Master, do you know the location of this underwater tomb?”
Wu Sansheng sensed the certainty in Yan Huai's tone. He grinned, showing his teeth, but didn't answer directly, letting them both understand each other: "Then if you're not looking for a tomb, what are you doing here?"
Yan Huai narrowed his eyes. This old fox didn't want to talk to him anymore, so he would just make up a few things: "The seabed isn't much more beautiful than the surface, at least that's what I think."
Upon hearing this, Wu Sansheng sensed a hidden meaning in Yan Huai's words. After a moment's thought, he realized the implication—it seemed to be true indeed... No matter how wide the sea is, there are ways to see everything clearly, but the seabed holds too many secrets.
"The people around Ah Ning are unreliable. You need to be careful." Out of consideration for the trip to the Seven Star Lu Palace, Wu Sansheng gave a low reminder.
Yan Huai is an honest man. Apart from his skills, he looks even younger and easier to fool than that brat Wu Xie. Wu Sansheng doesn't know what grudge Yan Huai and A Ning had before, but if it's just because of A Ning, then everything is fine. However, there are quite a few people with ulterior motives on this yacht. With Yan Huai's limited skills, he might not be able to handle them.
As expected, Yan Huai, though somewhat confused, nodded in agreement, probably knowing that Wu Sansheng was about to take action: "Okay!"
Once the yacht reached the location designated by Yan Huai, Wu Sansheng brought along several of A Ning's men. After they were equipped with diving gear, they all dived into the deep sea.
Ah Ning remains on the yacht, but now there's Yan Huai as well.
"Aren't you coming down with me?" A-Ning found it strange. Could it be that Yan Huai was really just here to join in the fun?
"Isn't this what you're asking for?!" Yan Huai feigned laziness, leaning against the ladder at the diving point and peering into the sea. "Just let me go down!"
She said that, but Ah Ning couldn't see at all what this guy was thinking! She secretly rolled her eyes and was too lazy to argue with Yan Huai. Once Wu Sansheng, who had gone down there, had news, there would be plenty of opportunities for him to contribute. Even if he didn't want to go down then, she would force him to. Otherwise, what was the point of the boss hiring him?
Yan Huai, standing to the side, was unaware of A Ning's inner thoughts. It wasn't that he didn't want to go down, but rather that he felt that with Wu Sansheng's cunning nature, he would definitely come up again to dispel A Ning and the others' doubts. Besides, he still had a mission to complete! How could he let Wu Sansheng slip away so easily?
Time passed in half-hour increments. Wu Sansheng and the others had been down for an hour and a half. According to A Ning's equipment monitoring, everyone's physical indicators were relatively normal, and they had all descended to a depth of fifty meters. Apart from that, no accidents had occurred.
With nothing else to do, Yan Huai activated his bloodline senses, intending to see where Zhang Qiling and Black Glasses were. However, before he could sense the ones in the distance, several lines appeared closer by.
They're red again, just like the ones I sensed last time in the Seven Star Lu Palace. There are three on the yacht, plus four in the sea.
Yan Huai glanced at the three people on the yacht without making a sound. As for the four in the sea, none of them belonged to Wu Sansheng. They should be the other four under A Ning's command.
Who exactly are they? Why did Ah Ning bring them here? And as the leader, how could Ah Ning not have any blood relatives?
Yan Huai was at a loss for what to do with the bunch of questions popping into his head. Wu Sansheng said that the people around A Ning were unreliable. Could he be referring to these blood relatives? It seemed he would have to find an opportunity to ask them later.
Distracted by this, Yan Huai completely forgot the purpose of activating his bloodline connection in the first place...
Another ten minutes or so passed, and the sea began to turn orange-yellow; it was five o'clock in the afternoon.
Just then, the monitoring equipment reacted, and Wu Sansheng and his team began to return. After a trial dive, they were able to ascend much faster, and soon several heads appeared on the surface of the sea.
"How is it?" A-Ning asked.
"The visibility is too poor, I can't figure it out either. Brother Yan, why don't you come down with me and take a look?" Wu Sansheng didn't rush up, but instead made a request to Yan Huai.
What tricks is Wu Sansheng up to this time?
Yan Huai didn't believe that Wu Sansheng was clueless. The location he pointed to was only on the edge of the underwater tomb. The real tomb entrance should be two kilometers further ahead. Wu Sansheng knew all this. How could he not see it just because of the limited view?
"it is good!"
Although he was secretly laughing, Yan Huai still put on the other diving equipment. Even though he could breathe freely underwater, he still had to put on the proper appearance.
The group continued downstream along the same path they had taken, with Yan Huai and Wu Sansheng in front and A Ning's four subordinates behind.
However, when they descended to a depth of about thirty meters, Yan Huai suddenly sensed something was wrong. He abruptly stopped and looked back, only to see dozens of strange-looking humanoid creatures rapidly attacking them.
Seeing that the others' underwater movement was restricted, Yan Huai was about to swim over to help when the person next to him grabbed his arm. Wu Sansheng frantically gestured for him to paddle towards the real entrance to the underwater tomb. But because of this delay, the two of them were surrounded by those ghostly things, but for some reason, they did not attack.
Seeing this, Wu Sansheng grabbed Yan Huai and frantically swam in the water, completely ignoring the men behind him who had been torn to pieces.
