Chapter 31 Qiu Dekao
Chapter 31 Qiu Dekao
After Yan Huai finished eating his wontons and paid for them, he followed the black and gold bloodline sensing lines, but a few more tails appeared behind him.
Yan Huai imagined Zhang Qiling seeing him with a tail and went to him, and he was afraid that Zhang Qiling would be unhappy.
So, adhering to the idea of not causing trouble for his friend, Yan Huai wrinkled his nose, cracked his knuckles, led the person to a secluded spot, and gave him a good beating.
"Host, there are cameras on their collars."
What is a camera?
As Yan Huai asked the question, he reached out and grabbed the collar of the man at his feet. The man thought Yan Huai was going to hit him again, and was so frightened that he hurriedly raised his hands to cover his head. He begged for mercy in a trembling voice, "Young Master Yan, please don't hit us. We're just doing our jobs for money. Even if you gave us a hundred more lives, we wouldn't dare to do it again!"
Where is the person who gave you the money?
Yan Huai groped around on the man's collar and tore off a small, round, button-like piece. The piece had a barely perceptible reflection in the middle; it turned out to be a camera.
"Our boss should be waiting for you outside. He sent us to test you. Young Master Yan, please forgive us!"
Yan Huai watched speechlessly as the man's nose bled profusely and he didn't dare to wipe it away. He let go of the man's hand, fiddled with the camera in his hand, and stepped out of the alley: "System, what can this camera do?"
"It can broadcast the footage of you hitting someone in real time and project it onto the monitor's screen."
Yan Huai didn't quite understand some of the words the system used. He lowered his eyes and pondered as he walked forward.
Just then, a black SUV drove up from the left, slowly following Yan Huai's pace.
Yan Huai turned his head in confusion, and the next moment, the passenger window was rolled down, revealing A Ning's smiling face.
"Brother Yan, it's been a long time!"
Yan Huai narrowed his eyes and replied with a forced smile, "Who wants to see you!"
Ah Ning's face stiffened for a moment. She glanced at the rearview mirror, then readjusted her expression: "Yan Huai, my boss admires you and wants to invite you to go to Hainan with him to the next oil field. He promised that there would be a generous reward if it went well!"
"Reward?" Yan Huai glanced at A Ning, then flicked the camera in his hand like a coin, before it fell back into his palm. "You learned that generous reward you mentioned last time from your boss, didn't you? I don't believe it!"
"You!" Ah Ning could no longer maintain the harmony on her face. She clenched her fists and cursed the boy inwardly for overestimating himself.
"A Ning!"
An old, peaceful voice suddenly came from the back seat, calming Ah Ning's raging heart.
Yan Huai turned his gaze, but only saw a rough outline. He genuinely disliked the voice; he felt that, like A Ning's, the voice had a sense of insincerity.
As Yan Huai was thinking this, the rear window of the car rolled down the next second.
It was a face unlike anyone Yan Huai had ever seen. He was very old, probably in his eighties or nineties, with platinum blonde hair and light green eyes. He was wearing a kind smile and looking at him.
Yan Huai tilted his head, a fleeting look of doubt in his eyes: "Who are you?"
"Hello, Brother Yan, my name is Qiu Dekao." Qiu Dekao's Chinese was a bit awkward with his pronunciation, but fortunately it was understandable.
"Oh..." Yan Huai was just asking casually, don't overthink it.
Seeing that Yan Huai remained silent and kept fiddling with the cameras that he had asked A Ning to distribute, Qiu Dekao assumed that Yan Huai was angry about the earlier probing. He lowered his head slightly and said apologetically, "Brother Yan, the earlier probing was unavoidable. Hainan, where we are going, is a dangerous place, so we need to invite someone with excellent skills to go with us. Please forgive us."
“I didn’t say I was going to…” Yan Huai glanced at Qiu Dekao and flicked the camera, which he had just caught, into his car. “Your attempt to test me was a waste of time.”
After saying that, Yan Huai turned and left without looking back at all.
"Yan Huai!" Ah Ning watched Yan Huai's departing figure, her teeth itching with hatred. "Boss, I'm going to teach him a lesson!"
“No need!” Qiu Dekao stopped A Ning again. He still had a smiling face, but a calculating look flashed in his eyes. “Contact Wu Sansheng and tell him that we are willing to cooperate with him.”
Although Ah Ning was puzzled, she still nodded and replied, "Yes!"
Meanwhile, Yan Huai, who had walked away with a flourish, was now following the bloodline sensing line toward a courtyard house. Just as he turned the corner, a white sedan drove up from the opposite side. The white curtains fluttered slightly, obscuring the people inside.
Yan Huai glanced at it and then looked away. Judging from the strength of their bloodline connection, Zhang Qiling and the man with the black glasses should be living in this courtyard house.
Thinking of this, Yan Huai's lips curled into a pleasant smile. He began to wonder what kind of expression Zhang Qiling would have when he saw him come to retrieve the knife.
Yan Huai walked to the entrance of the courtyard house, climbed the stone steps, knocked on the gate, and then stepped back.
Not long after, approaching footsteps came from inside, along with a voice filled with deep helplessness: "Master Hua, didn't the blind man just give you the rent? Is there anything else?"
The door was pulled open, and Yan Huai saw a figure dressed in all black with black glasses peeking out from the crack in the door.
"Hey? Who are you looking for?" Black Glasses was probably surprised that someone else would knock on the door, and he asked in a daze.
"I've come to find Zhang Qiling to retrieve the knife." Yan Huai pursed his lips. Hmm, this person's bloodline is golden, while Zhang Qiling's is black.
"Oh~" Black Glasses moved closer to Yan Huai. Just as Yan Huai thought he couldn't see clearly and moved his face forward as well, Black Glasses suddenly pulled back. "You're that Brother Yan from the tomb last time, right!"
“Yes!” Yan Huai nodded.
"Oh dear~ I'm so sorry!" The expression on Black Glasses' face seemed somewhat troubled, as if he was having some difficulty saying what he was about to say. "We... oh no, it's Zhang Qiling. He saw that you hadn't come to pick up the knife for so long, so he sold it!"
Upon hearing this, Yan Huai's eyes widened instantly, his face showing an expression that said, "You're lying to me, how could this be possible?!" "Sold!?"
The man with the black glasses pouted and nodded firmly.
"I, then I..." Yan Huai felt an indescribable tightness in his chest, a mix of grievance and disappointment at having his trust betrayed. Zhang Qiling had lied to him too?
"Sigh~" Looking at Yan Huai's bewildered expression, Black Eyes forced down the laughter that was about to burst from his lips and sighed heavily. "I feel sorry for you. How about this, I'll use my connections to help you chase after the buyer. However, there will be a small commission, but I guarantee I can definitely get the knife back for you!"
Yan Huai hung his head, caught in the vortex of Zhang Qiling's deception, unsure whether he had even heard Black Glasses' words.
After a while, Black Glasses, who hadn't received a response from Yan Huai, felt something was off. He stood behind the threshold, while Yan Huai stood at the foot of the stone steps of the gate with his head down, so he couldn't see Yan Huai's expression. He took a step forward and turned his head to look.
This single glance made Black Glasses feel guilty...
Yan Huai's originally clear and beautiful pupils seemed to be covered with a layer of gray, his eyes were red and trembling slightly, and his expression was so aggrieved that it looked like the black glasses had stolen his candy, as if he was about to cry and extort money from someone at any moment!
"no......"
Now, Black Glasses was at a loss. He didn't know Yan Huai at all and never expected that the kid would be so easily fooled!
"Yanhuai, right? Xiaohuai? Don't... the knife wasn't sold, it's still safely stored away! That mute guy cleans it for you hundreds of times a day, making it shine like oil!"
Black Glasses was frantically explaining to an adult taller than himself. In his panic, he didn't notice the wicked smile that Yan Huai, with his head down, had given him after a great vengeance.
You dare to lie to me, huh?!
