Chapter 454 Forensic Doctor Qin Ming 7
Chapter 454 Forensic Doctor Qin Ming 7
Without further ado, the group drove to the home of the old bachelor Zhao Qiang.
Upon reaching the gate, they saw the lame man feeding chickens in the yard through the courtyard wall.
Lin Tao stepped forward and knocked on the gate of his courtyard: "Zhao Qiang, we are from the Criminal Investigation Brigade of Panyu City. We need your assistance in the investigation of a case. Please open the door."
Su Ran could see Zhao Qiang pause for a moment, then walk over and open the door with a puzzled and bewildered look on his face: "Officer, I haven't done anything wrong, have I?"
His expression was innocent, and he looked honest and simple. Most people would never guess that this person was the ruthless character who murdered the original owner of the body and even dared to build the corpse into the wall.
Lin Tao asked with a serious expression, "You know Zhao Peng's niece, Su Ran, right?"
"I know, didn't they say the child was missing?" Zhao Qiang's expression was completely normal; he looked like an ordinary villager.
"What do you think about the haunting of Zhao Peng's house?" Su Ran's voice suddenly rang out.
Zhao Qiang had only glanced over casually, but when he saw her face clearly, a look of horror flashed in his eyes, and he unconsciously took a step back, limping.
His behavior and reactions were observed by Qin Ming and the others who were silently watching him.
They exchanged a glance; it seemed that Zhao Qiang did indeed have some issues.
Zhao Qiang also came to his senses and realized that his words were not quite right, so he immediately tried to make amends: "This girl looks a bit like my niece from the Zhao family. I was quite startled when I saw her just now."
"Why were you scared when you saw someone who looked like Su Ran?" Lin Tao asked sharply.
"Officer, this is so sudden." As he spoke, he glanced at Su Ran a few times, his eyes seeming to wonder how someone could look so much like another person.
Su Ran said to Xiao Qi, "Xiao Qi, this Zhao Qiang is quite the actor. Criminals really do need a strong mentality."
“Host, how could you dare to make a move on the original owner if you didn’t have some guts? Besides, he was very good at disguising himself in front of the villagers.”
"Yes, so there's some truth to the saying that people who seem honest on the surface aren't necessarily honest."
Lin Tao couldn't tell whether he believed Zhao Qiang's explanation or not, so Li Dabao asked, "Can I come to your house and take a look?"
Zhao Qiang glanced at her, maintaining a friendly smile: "Of course, come in and have a glass of water. It's just a pity that I don't have any tea leaves at home so I can't properly entertain you."
"We don't mind that."
The group entered Zhao Qiang's house. The house was very simple, and many things looked like they were handmade.
On the surface, Zhao Qiang calmly poured water for the group, but in reality, he kept a close eye on their behavior.
Su Ran glanced inside and knew that the original owner's remains were embedded in the wall of a room in the back hall.
Her gaze fell on Li Dabao; now it all depended on her nose.
Lin Tao and Qin Ming observed the surroundings, looking for anything amiss, while Li Dabao only faintly smelled a musty odor.
At first, she didn't think much of it, since these old houses are damp and prone to mold.
It wasn't until Qin Ming discovered a tiny, dried drop of blood in the gap between the floor and the wall of the back room that he realized what had happened.
It wasn't visible on the ground, and although the walls were slightly yellowed, not as obviously as pure white, he still noticed it after careful observation.
"There's a drop of blood here. Judging from the color and the degree of coagulation, it must have been there for at least half a month."
Upon hearing this, the group came over. Li Dabao sniffed and said, "Something's not right. There are several mixed odors here, including the smell of alkaline water and mold, but there's no smell of blood."
Qin Ming said, "That means someone washed this area with alkaline water."
As he spoke, he walked towards Zhao Qiang's kitchen, picked up the half-packet of old-fashioned baking soda from the stove, and walked back:
“In the past, some families would use baking soda mixed with water to wash dishes, but now very few people do it.”
Zhao Qiang limped over from behind. He was very nervous after hearing this, but he didn't dare to show it: "I do know how to use baking soda mixed with water to clean."
Lin Tao glanced at him and asked, "Then where did this blood come from? This isn't a kitchen; you can't possibly be killing chickens and fish here, can you?"
“I was cleaning here once and I didn’t notice that I cut my hand on a nail. It bled quite a bit and the blood even got on the floor and the walls, so I just washed it with alkaline water.”
As he spoke, he stretched out his hand, revealing a trace of a healed scratch on the back of his hand.
Upon hearing this, Lin Tao turned around to observe the exposed nail tips on the door next to him.
Su Ran raised an eyebrow. The wound was inflicted when the original owner touched the scissors during his struggle.
Following the smell, Li Dabao entered the back room and finally stopped in front of a wall: "There's a smell of cement here, and also a stench of corpses."
Her words immediately silenced the room, and Lin Tao and Qin Ming both turned their gazes toward Zhao Qiang.
As if they had guessed something, the three of them looked rather grim, glancing at Su Ran, who had a faint smile on her lips.
Although some of the cases they solve involve even more brutal methods, such as the previous case of dismemberment and deep-frying.
But those victims were all strangers, so I couldn't empathize with them that deeply.
Although Su Ran had only known them for a short time, they had become somewhat familiar with her over this period of time. Thinking of her... the three of them couldn't bear to continue thinking about it.
Zhao Qiang forced a smile, feeling his heart pounding in his throat: "Little girl, you must be mistaken. How could there be a stench of corpses?"
"We'll know once we find someone to break down the wall," Qin Ming said coldly, glancing at him indifferently.
Lin Tao took out his phone: "I'll call someone over."
Zhao Qiang's smile crumbled, and he turned to run away.
The few people who had been watching him closely immediately stepped forward to stop him.
Zhao Qiang saw the shovel lying to the side and wanted to pick it up to attack them.
Lin Tao immediately went over to stop him, but unfortunately he was the furthest from Zhao Qiang. Su Ran simply went over and kicked the shovel away.
Without his weapon, Zhao Qiang had no choice but to rush towards the door, but his limp prevented him from moving quickly. Lin Tao pounced on him and pinned him to the ground: "Trying to run? Old Qin, get my handcuffs out."
Qin Ming took out handcuffs from his pocket, and the two of them handcuffed Zhao Qiang together.
Lin Tao took out his phone again to make a call, while Qin Ming and Su Ran stood in front of the wall.
Li Dabao thought the smell was too strong, so she stayed a bit further away. She looked a little sorry for Su Ran, then walked over and patted her on the shoulder: "Why don't you go back first? We can wait for the results."
Seeing your own remains is always a rather cruel feeling.
Qin Ming turned to look at her and nodded in agreement: "Testing and interrogation both take time. Go back and wait for news."
Seeing the concern in their eyes, Su Ran, who didn't want to look at them anyway, said, "Okay, thank you for your help."
After finishing his call, Lin Tao came over and said, "No trouble at all. I'll have someone take you home when they arrive."
