Chapter 1367: Win people’s hearts
Chapter 1367: Win people’s hearts
Niu Gang and Xiao Chen hired two trucks to move their belongings to the shipyard's residential compound.
The news of Niu Gang and Xiao Chen resigning has spread throughout the residential compound. Some people have been eyeing their houses for a while and can't wait to make them move out.
Niu Gang and Xiao Chen's family members were very anxious at home, wondering how the husband's new job was going.
However, upon hearing the discussions outside, he frowned as he packed his luggage.
When Niu Gang and Xiao Chen returned, they sensed the tense atmosphere. Rumors had already spread that they were being sidelined at work. Now that they'd resigned, they were no longer considered employees. Those people with sharp tongues were especially annoying.
Niu Gang smiled bitterly, "People leave and things cool down. We haven't even left yet, and things are already cold."
"Anyway, I'm not sad. I have a big house to live in, and I don't care about this cramped little dormitory," Xiao Chen said with a smile, greeting everyone along the way and asking someone to drive the car downstairs.
Out with the old, in with the new. Xiao Chen has already moved to a new house and is living a good life; this place is now a thing of the past.
Hu Jian came over to help move things.
When Niu Gang's wife saw her husband coming over, she asked, "How is it?"
"Everything went smoothly. The company provided a big house, so we'll move in now." Niu Gang watched his wife pack her luggage and keep moving it into the car.
Upon hearing this, Niu Gang's wife breathed a sigh of relief and took everything she could use from the house.
When Niu Gang saw those ugly little stools, he didn't know whether to laugh or cry. "The decoration over there is so nice, even better than on TV! Don't bring these ugly stools over."
"No, I made all of these myself." Niu Gang's wife couldn't bear to part with them and took them all with her.
Xiao Chen's wife over there is the same way; she can't bear to throw anything away.
The truck was packed. Niu Gang and Xiao Chen sat in the truck. Hu Jian drove the car, and Xiao Chen's wife and Niu Gang's wife, holding their child, sat in the back seat.
"Brother Hu, are the houses over there really that nice?" Xiao Chen's wife asked.
Hu Jian smiled and said, “Great! It’s a three-bedroom, one-living-room apartment, all renovated, with new furniture and appliances. You can move in right away. Your child is too young to go to kindergarten, but there’s a daycare center in the complex. You can send your child there; they’ll receive excellent care. If you want to work, your employer will also arrange jobs for you.”
"You can still work?" Xiao Chen's wife asked in surprise. "Are daycare fees expensive? How much do we earn? Can we afford it?"
They had considered it before, but the child was too young to bear it.
Now that their child is over two years old, if the daycare there is good and the fees are reasonable, they will send their child there.
Hu Jian encouraged her, saying, "Our General Manager Liu is a woman with two children and a job. My wife also works. Women hold up half the sky. Don't worry, let's settle down first."
Fujian's genuine respect for women is what makes feminism truly feminist. It's not about fulfilling ulterior motives, but about participating in labor and utilizing one's intelligence and talents within that labor.
Both Xiao Chen's wife and Niu Gang's wife were very excited and looked forward to their new home even more.
Once inside the residential compound, Hu Jian escorted them upstairs.
When they saw the new house, they put their children down and were overjoyed. They had never lived in such a nice house before; they never imagined their husbands could get one just by changing jobs. If they had known, they would have changed jobs sooner.
I hope my husband can work hard in the future so that we can continue to live here.
With a house, you have a home.
Hu Jian ran up and down the stairs, helping to move things.
The security guards in the residential complex, upon learning that Hu Jian was a veteran, and a renowned Marine at that, were very impressed and quickly came over to help him move his luggage.
Niu Gang invited Hu Jian and the security guard to dinner, but Hu Jian declined.
“You still have a lot to pack, so let’s skip it today,” Hu Jian said with a smile. “Tomorrow I’ll bring your sister-in-law, nephew, and niece over to help with the house cleaning. We can all get together for a meal then. Buy a few extra cartons of cigarettes for the guys at the property management office. Give one carton to those who help with the move, and a pack to the rest. Don’t be stingy; we’ll all be neighbors from now on.”
Niu Gang agreed, "I know, Brother Hu."
Niu Gang and Xiao Chen took cigarettes and went to distribute them to the property management staff.
The property management staff of this residential community are all veterans. Here, the security guards are essentially equivalent to the old-style security department. Not only are the guards young, but they are also very efficient. They learn skills such as electrical work and lawn maintenance, and their monthly salary is one-third higher than that of security guards in other communities.
Niu Gang's wife and Xiao Chen's wife carefully tidied up the house. They found that many of the things they brought didn't match the home's decor, so they threw away a lot of them. They hadn't been willing to throw them away before because they were worried they would have to buy more.
Having moved into a new house and restarted their careers, they are looking forward to the future.
The next day, Hu Jian and Zhang Xiufang, along with Xu Chongyang and Hu Xiaoli, arrived at their house in the city.
Xu Chongyang was shocked and couldn't believe it. "Uncle, isn't it wonderful that Aunt Meilan prepared a house for you?"
Hu Jian humbly replied, "It was prepared for our family."
“If it weren’t for my uncle working here, we wouldn’t have a house like this.” Xu Chongyang affirmed his stepfather’s role. “When I start high school next year, I can come here and won’t need to rent a house.”
"Yes, we have the furniture, but not the bedding. We'll go buy some in a bit." Hu Jian was very happy. His hard work had enabled his family to have a nice house and live a good life, which was a very fulfilling thing.
Xiao Chen's wife and Niu Gang's wife bought groceries early and cooked at Niu Gang's house, gathering together at noon. Niu Gang, Xiao Chen, and Hu Jian, on the other hand, went with Zhang Xiufang and Xu Chongyang to the supermarket owned by Liu Yiwen.
They bought quilts, mattresses, pillows, bedding sets, pots, pans, and tableware. They used the largest shopping carts available, two for each person, and a total of ten carts to complete their shopping list.
I hit the truck driver from yesterday and we took him home together.
The three families celebrated together, creating a lively atmosphere. In the afternoon, the men played with the children. The three housewives began helping to tidy up the house, and put the bedding into the washing machine to wash.
More and more things are being placed around it, and it's starting to look like a home.
After Hu Jian, Niu Gang, and Xiao Chen officially started working, they initially familiarized themselves with the various departments within their company. Half a month later, they began traveling across the country on business trips. Their work was remarkably effective; with their supervision, the defect rate decreased for both electric vehicles and photovoltaic panels. Those who previously worked on raw materials no longer dared to compromise on quality.
For the new semiconductor project, Hu Jian, along with Niu Gang and Xiao Chen, invested in and set up a factory in a western city under Liu Yibang's administration. With them overseeing the project, problems could be resolved quickly, greatly accelerating the project's progress and demonstrating the capabilities of their team.
Liu Meilan promised them they could go home to reunite with their families every weekend, but they would only return for three days of rest every two weeks to save travel time and focus on their work. They had to connect with research teams, communicate with construction teams, and coordinate with the local government.
