Chapter 897: If Soft Tactics Fail, Use Hard Ones
On the other end of the line, Willow Grant was still waiting for news from Susan Stone, her expression growing increasingly grim.
At this hour, Susan Stone should still be awake. Why hasn’t she heard from her?
Could it be... she really gave up on her?
No way!
Since being soft doesn’t work, she’ll have to resort to tougher measures.
Her parents are coming, tomorrow she’ll take them to find Susan Stone!
Before long, the Grant parents finally arrived.
Willow Grant deliberately timed it just right, cooking herself a pack of instant noodles, then making her room a mess, even applying some pale makeup to make herself look quite desolate.
As soon as Mrs. Grant saw Willow Grant like this, tears immediately streamed down her face.
"Oh, my dear daughter! How did you end up like this?"
Willow Grant remained silent, simply shaking her head.
Mr. Grant’s expression wasn’t much better, as he spoke coldly: "Go make dinner for Willow first. Eating instant noodles like this isn’t right. Willow, don’t worry, tomorrow I’ll take you to find Susan Stone and demand justice!"
...
In the blink of an eye, it was the next day.
Today, Damian Knight had to go on a business trip. When Summer Monroe woke up, there was a breakfast bought by Damian Knight and a note beside her.
She picked up the note and glanced at it.
"One-day business trip to Rivain, will be back by noon tomorrow."
Summer smiled, even though he had already told her about the trip last night before bed, he still took the trouble to leave a note today.
Damian Knight was more considerate than she imagined.
She was just about to have breakfast and go back to sleep when Ronan Kingston’s call came through.
She pressed the answer button, but it was Old Master Kingston’s voice that came through.
"Miss Monroe, when are you coming over? My koala here has been moved from the ICU to a regular ward, but I don’t know what’s gotten into him. No matter how much I scold him, he refuses to cooperate with the nurses for the IV therapy."
Could the refusal to cooperate with the IV be due to some traumatic aftereffects?
"I understand," Summer replied, "I’ll be there in an hour."
"Alright, alright." Old Master Kingston hung up the phone, and Summer then got up to brew some medicine in the kitchen.
An hour later, Summer headed to Ross Hospital with a thermos cup of herbal medicine.
Just as Old Master Kingston had said, upon arriving at the ward floor, Summer coincidentally saw a nurse being ushered out of the room by Julian Kingston.
Ronan Kingston ran out to apologize for Julian Kingston.
"I’m sorry, my brother usually isn’t like this. I’ll calm him down and you can come back later."
"No worries," the nurse said understandingly with a smile, "Illness indeed affects one’s mood. It’s important for the family to talk to the patient more, and in time, he’ll get better. I’ll come back later."
"Alright, thank you."
Ronan Kingston looked up just in time to see Summer approaching.
He felt pleased but at the same time conflicted.
"Boss lady."
There’s no way he could call her sister-in-law, but boss lady works.
Summer nodded and, instead of walking into the ward, pulled Ronan Kingston to the end of the corridor to ask, "Your grandfather called me, I saw what just happened. What’s going on with Julian Kingston? Why is he suddenly refusing to cooperate with the treatment?"
Ronan Kingston bit his lip, saying with guilt, "This is all my fault, I shouldn’t have said it in front of my brother."
"What exactly happened?" Summer asked seriously.
Ronan Kingston hung his head, saying, "My grandfather, for some reason, has decided he wants you as his granddaughter-in-law and even told my brother that once he gets better, he’ll have him marry you. I noticed my brother seemed quite happy, and worried he’d be even more disappointed later, so I told him about you being married to Damian Knight. And then he became like this..."
